CASAA is looking for smokeless tobacco representative

The CASAA (Consumer advocates for Smokefree Alternatives Association) is a consumer based group that advocates for tobacco harm reduction. It started up as a response to the efforts by by the FDA and other groups to try and ban e-cigs. They are looking for someone to join there board to advocate for snus (and smokeless in general). This is non-paid as far as I know.

This started up among electronic cigarette users but they advocate for all harm reduction products. They are lacking someone with a good knowledge of snus for there board.

I'm not quite sure what the job is all about but if you contact the CASAA no doubt they will fill you in

Wow. I was actually considering contacting CASAA after I checked out the site last month because they have very little (no) information about snus on their website.

It was started up by electronic cigarette users so has been a bit biased in that regard, but they are looking to expand there advocacy for snus. They do have some information on snus but most of there work up to now has been in regards to e-cigs. E-cigs have been under immediate threat of being banned so that is understandable.

I spoke with Bill Godshall about this in the past, I heard about it before.

Apparently I wasn't allowed to help advocate for harm reduction since they think I sell snus or something.

So I dunno.

They do link to one of my domains, QuitSmokingWithSnus.com on their page http://www.casaa.org/links/userlinks.asp, which I think is cool.

It seems like e-cigs is their main focus. But, everything helps.

I saw a quote in a recent Larry Waters posting at SnusCENTRAL which puts it all in perspective when he posted a link to a Bill Godshall thing about e-cigs.

"[EDITOR's NOTE: First they came for the e-cigs and I did nothing since I didn't use them. Then they came for my Swedish Snus and there was no one left to help me]"

A good way to look at is we all need to work together. Even if we're not e-cig advo's, we're all HARM REDUCTION advo's. There needs to be more communication and cooperation.

People want an organization to get behind and work with to further snus - CASAA could be it. It remains to be seen though how far they'll go for snus.

I think we should do it by competition the heaviest user wins the position we'll do it by grams per day times nicotine content with jak's snus getting a 10 since I think the 14 is made up. That or the highest amount smoked previously divided by number of portions currently used a day.
