"only on-topic snus comments should count for points" simply because there is no way logistically of accomplishing that.

Well there is a potential way of accomplishing that - a reputation system, but I'm not advocating that.

I don't see how someone posting BS in the snus&health section should count more than BS posted in the PATWAU section.

If it's BS, then it gets moved, like it always has been, If it's snus related, then it's snus related - no problemo hermano.

i've contributed a little to the snus discussion part, but the vast majority of my posts are offtopic discussions in the PATWAU section, but I sure feel like I am a member of this community as much as anyone else, and if we are going to have a community shop that uses community points for currency/value, than I don't see how we can randomyl pick and choose whos points count more.

Indeed you are a true member, an asset to the community, but the thing is, is that this forum isn't meant to be a PATWAU forum, it's a snus forum, and the PATWAU section is a spill off section like in any other forum with a fundamental discussion topic. Anyone who posts in any section is a member of the community, but the posts that matter are the ones that contribute to the discussion of the topic and related topics.

You could argue, that SnusOn is no longer a snus forum, but a forum where snus is discussed among other things, with which I would agree to a tiny extent, but I still hold that at it's core it's snus, not fleshlights. This is the probably the only argument that I would accept for points being awarded for posts in PATWAU, if there was a possibility to decide (I'm betting that it's already decided that PATWAU will get its points, and that this discussion is pointless).

My point was that the people who take the time to make accounts usually end up finding their way to the PATWAU section, or sign up to join some heated debate happening there. It brings lurkers out of the dark. Lurkers will have no advantage either way since they get no points so why should they care anyways.

Well, I thought you meant that PATWAU brings in a lot of traffic, and that was the point that I was contending. I wasn't trying to say that the lurkers care about the points system, what I meant was that they don't care about the threads in PATWAU (this is a guess, but I hope you see why it's an educated guess). I haven't really noticed that trend of lurkers coming out of the dark to post in PATWAU, but it would seem odd to me, but I really don't know.

I think we can all agree that there is a reason why Snuson exists, and that is because it fills a void that places like snuffhouse do not fill. We have a special community here, and it's because we do things a little different.

First, I dont agree with a reward for a posting count for anything on this forum other then,
Actually reviewing new snus products, or existing products. This would push a incentive to do so.

If you do reward for post counts I think all sections should be included in the points system.
There are some very long pause's in the snus world to which there is not much else to post on other then PATWAU section or what's in my mouth right now..

IF you do cut out the PATWAU section, then be forewarned about a lot of stupid posting for posting counts coming on.

LOL did ice ever indicate that the subject was up for debate? I think some people are just sore because sgreger1 has 1 million points and he mentions the word snus on a semiannual basis lol. He probably quit snus 2 years ago for all we know.

The shop is now launched, here are last few details how it works.

1) All products will be shipped from US warehouse and the shop is following current online guidelines, world wide shipping excluding to the US states and few countries where tobacco online sales from US is forbidden.

2) Forum points will turn to extra discount. Based on all feedback we got, we tuned bonus point system so that it shouldn't make any troubles to forum. Forum points is basically nice small extra benefit that members get when you have participated the forum - when you reach certain levels you'll get small extra discount from the shop. The levels are set so that the max extra discount is 7 % and you'll get that when you have reached 10 000 points. 5000 points gives you 5% and 1000 points 2%.

3) When you buy snus from SnusOn shop you'll get regular "shop bonus points" as well. This is normal system, but nice benefit as well. When you have collect enough bonus points you can use those in the SnusOn shop.

4) I really like that shop is integrated with forum, so we can support very easy shopping, ratings & reviews. Beside of that we'll do our best to find good campaigns for the members e.g. first 4 days are shipped free.

I just noticed that I did not see anywhere if the products were in stock. This is a very nice feature on the Northerner site, due to not ordering something out of stock and waiting til mid-summer to recieve a order.
