All contributions to this forum make it special and keep people active here, not just snus-related posts. Some of us don't care to spend major time online and frequent a variety of forums for various purposes... Snuson is one-stop convenience and a great bunch of people who enjoy discussing any topic that fits our fancy, it would be a shame if there were "on-topic Nazis" in our midst. What happens when the all-to-familiar post about snus turns into a discussion about aliens? Undercover Cop/Snus Confiscation thread, case in point. My suggestion is to relax about the points, enjoy the new feature, and enjoy the website however the hell Ice wants it! Cheers.

why do we care so much? look at our typical member with a lot of points. They either A) have been here a long time and post a lot in People - and elsewhere (sgreger, lxskllr), or B) have been here a short time and pretty much only post about snus (jagman, snusgetter,). Lol @ how everyone cares so much about points. How about you guys relax and just be glad that Ice is continuing to develop the site and keeping us in mind while doing so. Ice has never been one to pull his "I own this shit" card and has always let the community decide how things play out whilst he quietly works in the background to make Snuson better over time. This is a big upgrade for him so let's not **** that up for him by complaining about the points. Like Roo and Blue have been saying, I doubt the points are going to really offer some HUGE discount, I mean we're probably talking like free shipping every now and again or something, so stop focusing on the points.


And to all of you who still complain about the people and the world around us section, I just don't see what you don't get: The point of this place is traffic, because traffic=money someday for Ice, and Ice should be obliged to do what he can to keep the bills paid just like all the rest of us. For those who didn't notice, Ice is an entrepreneur, and the PATWAU section is what brings a lot of traffic, infact a lot of our long time posters were drawn in and remain here because of it. I mean the real vets can only talk snus for so many hours of the day so it ends up defaulting back to real life topics like current events and women and booze etc I mean I just don't get what all the complaining is about. If you were to shut down the PATWAU section, snuson would be gone and all of it's good members would be around here a lot less.

This is like a bar; sure they sell alcohol, but it doesn't mean everyone comes to the bar just to discuss alcohol because that would be boring and no one would go to that bar.

I mean Northerner gives you bonus points for writing reviews, how is that any different, I mean are they hemorrhaging money because review whores are spending all day posting their comments about their favorite snus? Well, that is where you are wrong. PATWAU is where, what I would call, the core members post. In actuality, the vast majority of traffic comes from unregistered lurkers, and they don't come here to read about fleshlights. Take a look at snuffhouse, (ballparking here) 95% of discussion is about tobacco, and the community isn't shattered. I don't want to shut that section down, I just feel that it isn't what this forum is for (it's for snus goddamit), and it should have a lower standing.

I like the feature, I love it, even though I won't be able to use it, but I just don't like the idea of people getting rewarded for straying off the course and going off topic.

It's very different, because if you write a review for a product, you write something relevant, and useful. If you would get rewarded for posting that same fleshlight joke on the northerner, that would be insane. Same with snuson, PATWAU is irrelevant, and serves no purpose within snus/tobacco discussion which is what this forum is about in its core.
Even if people were 'review whores' on the northerner, they would still contribute with appropriate material.
