I say who cares..I like Nash and wish him all the best..I have always thought Chads a dweeb but I wish them well..

Another thing.. If I was going to open up a new forum I would have chosen a much more powerful platform then simple portal...

SMF is actually pretty robust. I just feel that all SMF sites look the same so it starts to feel old to me. But I could say that about a lot of forum solutions. All in all SMF is nice, I just don't like their licensing for my uses.

We checked out a lot of options. This one felt clean and simple, making the site easy to use for the new folks, but still functional and equipped for the seasoned snusers.

That would be SMF. Nothing negative about it, my gripes have to do with:

            1. It being poorer in the theming department than some other options.

            2. They have a restriction in the license about writing and releasing third party releases outside of what is included in their extensions. Not going to get in the details but it makes it less desirable for my purposes.

Those are just my quibbles with the platform as far as using it for something I might build. I don't fault your choice of it. It is powerful and scalable.

              Tingle smingle gauys!

The whole forum so far is replications of threads here. Chad doesn't have an original bone in his body. He's just restarting threads over there that the ideas came from original posters here. Lame.

Chad "I have a great new idea for a thread how bout the ripping someone else off and moving it over here and calling it mine". Sickening IMO.

5 bux says he get's banned from here again (for pretty much the same bs as last year), and comes begging Ice back (and I hope Ice is not as nice this time).

But It's not the first time. I gotta new site too goeffyourself.org.

And please leave both of you, I was gonna put both you on ignore anyways cause your dumb sigs but didn't want to block all sigs.

              Just sayin'
Sums up pretty well why I don't visit SnusOn much anymore.

I've used a lot of phpBB and vBulletin in the past and I think SMF is pretty clean and has a lot of capabilities.
I am working on more theme options as well.
PhpBB just got old to me and the mods aren't to the level I want them to be.
VBulletin is expensive for one and I think it is wayy too plain, every vBulletin forum looks identical.
So I'm working with SMF and making it the best I can. I will continue to tinker (I also have a test forum up for this reason.)
SMF at this time suited us perfectly.

Truth is most of the forum scripts are not to my liking. I tend to go more to the full blown CMS side as I think in some ways the concept of what a forum is for is changing. I see sites try to use a forum for some very unforum things. That is not commentary about anywhere in particular, just in general. I prefer things like drupal etc.

Some forum software that I do find interesting, myBB, PunBB, Vanilla. It really is a personal style thing to where I come from in working on a site.

The forums look decent. I was actually looking at it a bit last night. Their license is kind of weird. It's open source! with traps :^D

It seems like you could distribute build scripts to get around their silly license. That takes the user friendliness out of it, but it shouldn't be terribly difficult.

Asking general users to do anything more complex than register, learn to post, and make sure their printer is plugged in when they want to print can be dangerous. I used to have some faith in the general populations computer skills, especially the generation that's grown up surrounded by them, but there's always a sizeable group who can spectacularly bungle even the simplest of tasks. I taught my room mate how to use torrents, and which file types she would want, as she was only trying to download Lost. First day, she'd completely ignored the file type guide to avoiding viruses, and I found the machine completely bricked. She'd gone and torrented Lost-Season-5.exe and ran it, about three months before any of season 5 had even aired.

This is the only thread that I can see [other than a mods thread]. So I need to post this here so hopefully others can see this notice.

As I mentioned previously........the site is experiancing some trouble, the techs are working on it and it should be running smoothly soon. Hang in there. Untill then.........

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Nah, since there are numerous other competitors, why bother. But this is one of the three reasons there is no real bridge between smf and drupal, and that is a fail in my book.

I was hoping that was a video of a plane crashing and burning, which is exactly what you should let happen to this shit feat full of self righteous pricks called SnusOn. Apparently PP has been too busy overcharging chumps for shitty snus to get this problem resolved already.
