I live in Canada, not too far from the US border. Does anyone know if swedish snus is available in stores in Washington state? Specifically, the border towns such as Blaine or Point Roberts would be quite close for me. Even Bellingham would be not too far for me to go. Apparently, there is a store in Seattle that carries snus, but that is definitely too far, about a 2 1/2 hour drive. Thanks for any info.

You're still looking at a 2 hour drive... You should wait until you come to Seattle for a visit, then go stock up at BJ's Tobacco Shop in Fife. They have several brands available.
Their address and contact info is available on my profile (I also have a few other locations listed, with prices and list of brands sold).Words of Wisdom

Originally posted by RooNice Rick, thanks for that list. Any chance you could ask the owner of the above store to carry those brands at the Yelser St. location? The two stores are owned by the same dude, and while they are only 1/2 a mile apart, the Yesler location is 1 block from my work and it would be sweet to have that option. The Yesler location is also right where the Seattle Underground tour ends (tour of the old town that burned to the ground in 1889 and was built over) so loads of tourists walk by it every day. They do a lot of business. Thanks!

Originally posted by rickcharles606I can talk to them, but honestly...they like to hear this type of thing from their customers more than me, lol. The main reason any retailer adds a product to a location is because he has a cutomer asking for it, and now that they carry our brands, it would be easy enough. Let me know how you want to handle it, and if you're uncomfortable with speaking to them about it...I'll call em for ya ;-)

I can get many retailers to pick up Swedish snus, because I'm good at what I do....but if he doesn't have customer's asking for it. He won't carry it for long. Let your local guys know that you use and love it, and eventually we'll get it in there. Also, if you've been talking to your local retailer (preferrably a premium smoke shop or tobacco outlet) about carrying snus, get me their info. Many of you have given me leads for a retailer, and I always follow up on them. Sometimes the retailer is receptive, and other times they aren't. I speak to TONS of retailers that were given the "free fridge and product" by Swedish match, but were never followed up with and then the retailer ends up with a lot of expired snus and no buyers. Many of these guys have been jaded against carrying snus. They often say, "Yeah, I tried that General and it didn't sell and nobody's asking for snus. Hey, I've still got the fridge in the back, do you know who I can call to give it back?" These are the guys that we have a difficult time selling to, but if the retailer has people asking for Jak's or Thunder or Northerner brands....it makes it easier to close them.
Every market indicator shows that Swedish snus WILL be successful in the US, but I can't do it alone....you guys asking for it can change the face of the market and the perception of snus in the eyes of many retailers. Keep it up guys and I promise to keep pushing as hard as I can...everyday ;-)
