I wouldn't be too happy about that. I don't know how you do things in the UK, but handing tobacco over to the FDA has been a disaster for us.

Likely, it's for the same reason that a lot of doctors are against medical marijuana compared to, say, Marinol (synthetic THC in a pill). They're just interested in the main active ingredient (nicotine), and nothing else. I wouldn't be surprised if WTA liquids become illegal there once this takes effect.

Off-topic, but I'll add my two cents anyway. I'd much rather use snus over pure nicotine, tea or coffee over energy drinks or caffeinated soda, coca leaves (as a tea, chew, etc) as opposed to pure cocaine, opium as opposed to heroin, marijuana as opposed to pure THC or other isolated cannabinoid agonists, etc. I don't get the same level of satisfaction otherwise. The entire sensory experience is qualitatively better, IMO.

Yikes! You are absolutely right. This is a disaster for vapers. E-cigs will be prescription only. And I'll bet they will be heavily taxed too.

I don't think ecigs wil be prescription only. Just like you can buy nic patches off the shelf not on prescription now and also get them on prescription... i think the same thing will happen with ecigs.

Buy from whom though? The FDA has fairly rigorous testing standards for items sold as drugs. That locks small players out of the market, and your choice is limited to the big guys. I bet big tobacco had a hand in this ruling.

t like the internet tax legislation that sailed thru the senate and will pass the House just as easily. Everybody I talk to says well that's good for Mom and Pop stores right? And I say how bout it's good for wal-mart the Mom and Pop killer. Most people are so stupid they can't believe wal-mart would be the biggest backer of the bill even tho it makes perfect sense if you think about it for a second....... It's amazing the sh!t people readily swallow......
