After the EU's own SCENIHR study (which showed the harmlessness of snus), the public consultation (which gained 95% of the votes pro snus and was ignored by the commission), not to mention the Dalli scandal ... I'm sure that it's 100% corruption.

    Cheers!

No, no, no my friend. It's all honest politics just to protect and serve the people of EU.

( Or you can replace the words "honest" with bullshit and "people" with pharma and tobacco companies).

I'd settle for them lifting/clearing up the export part of the ban. I'd be happy enough to carry on ordering in from overseas.

                  It might happen.

It remains the most inexplicable thing that the EU continue this apparent crusade against snus despite all the overwhelming evidence from Sweden (one of it's own member state with an amazing record on smoking reduction and low cancer rates). If they didn't continue to pursue snus in this manner despite all the evidence I could happily dismiss Dali-gate as one bad apple, but it would seem as if the EU parliament would happily brush this under the carpet and continue to pursue the same policies ignoring the overwhelming evidence once again.

My personal politics would naturally see me supporting the EU as a concept, I think we should be integrating in the european region on many many levels, far better that than the other option for us in the UK to adopt US type politics in my opinion. But this single ridiculous issue has turned my personal opinion towards the EU as an institution is that it is either completely corrupt or completely incompetent ... there can be no other answer! and that has focussed my mind on the fact that it is politically invalid as European elections while member states remain sovereign are not taken seriously by any of the electorate and turnout levels are so low that the whole parliament has no validity.

The whole snus industry should take a much more militant approach like V2 have with Thunder "chewing tobacco" which I can buy in the UK. It's the same stuff just labeled differently as the whole definition of snus and what is legal and not is totally manipulable at the moment. The only future for snus under the current regime in europe is THIS ... and V2 snus (or chewing tobacco - whatever you call it) still sucks as much as it ever did ....

Come on other snus-makers out there ... get us some "chewing tobacco" here and stick your fingers up at the corruption that is this current joke European Union.

Better to keep it quiet. If the big boys get in it, it'll get shut for everyone.

The beauty is they have to get EU approval to market it, so they know full well what it is yet let it through, V2 don't hide what it is, and I am sure its no coincidence it looks, smells and tastes identical to Thunder loose snus. SM already did those General and Roda tobacco cuts, others are still sold now! They could do the right thing and just lift the ban, but this is the EU we are talking about!
