Are you allowed to use snus at work?

I just read this in Swedish media.

"When the smoking regulations for municipal employees in Skövde is to be tighter, also those who use snus will be trapped. Besides the smoking ban, the municipality wants to introduce a ban on snus for the municipal employers"

I know I would quit that job if I have to stop using snus at work. Why don't they deal with serious problem instead?

What a load.

I understand smoking effects people in the area around the smoker so ya good call on a ban. Even dipping if you work in like an office environment having a spittoon on your desk could be a no no, but how the hell can you ban snus, it's not killing anyone and your not walking around spitting all day.

Personally, I'm not. But for no reason at all other than a "total tobacco ban". Hasn't stopped me once. I just get some strange looks.

I work in a no tobacco, no exceptions enviorment and I still snus all day. The full ban went into effect last July, which is the main reason I tried snus. As far as my co workers know, I'm now a non smoker/tobacco user and I just keep quiet about it. I had one close call back when I was still getting the hang of talking normally with a portion in but it was all good. I still use regular portions here and there, but I stick with minis at work and don't really worry about it.

I suppose in Sweden, though, it would be a bit harder to fly under the radar since most people there know what the bulge is.

Good for you dquinn104 . I'm of the old school using the hill-billy method as most old-timers around here. You definitely can tell when the lip is "loaded".

I am aloud to snus in my IT helpdesk office in the UK. However i do get the piss taken from people saying they are tea bags haha.
But the same smokers don't laugh when its raining.

Never had a problem and I openly snus at work, I take out and out in portions during meetings with no questions asked. Everyone knows about it and it has never caused a problem yet.

Keep it low profile, like portions (& pouches) are designed to do. Not in trouble till you're caught so they say!

I snus allllll dayyyy at university, I'm currently in sweden which is even cooler with the snus, I was doing a presentation and poped in a snus mid flow and no one batted an eyelid, tis all fly here. So yeah, no issues my end
