We all know how corrupt the EU is, but why aren't we screaming from the roof tops. Snus saves lives yet big tobacco bribes the EU to keep on killing smokers by stopping snus from being sold in the rest of Europe. Does anyone have any ideas how we can tackle this? I as a snuff producer am getting really fed up with this and for the sake of smokers lives hope that Greece votes to leave the EU and that the whole embarrassing thing implodes.

My politics is towards the left wing side and people automatically think that I should be a natural supporter of closer European integration but this whole thing has gone beyond having political sides now. I realise that I am European, but I'm definitely English first! The corruption, unaccountability and full-speed ahead centralised bureaucracy of the EU is now setting alarm bells off with all kinds of people, not just far-right nationalists and natural xenophobes!
I hope Greece sticks 2 fingers up, declares itself bankrupt and does a great job of rebuilding itself outside of the EU. I hope that other EU countries follow suit and ignore the blackmail that comes from Brussels and the Germans in particular. Much as I despise a lot of what David Cameron is doing as leader of the Conservative Party here in the UK, I hope he succeeds in being very confrontational with the EU in his demands for a renegotiation of Britain's role and obligations and starts a tidal wave that will weaken the EU's grip on power over it's nation states.
The snus issue is obviously ridiculous - another personal one for me is making centuries old heirloom seeds illegal to sell unless each variety is tested at a cost of €3000 - making many traditional and local varieties of fruit, vegetables, and tobacco on the brink of extinction! I'm sure everyone has their own story to tell.
I think it's perfectly possible to have a Europe that works together to trade freely and has close diplomatic ties to work together on issues and avoid internal conflicts and wars without this ridiculous political and financial union that goes over the heads of whole countries and is rotten to the core.
If we in Europe had any significant oil reserves like they have in the Middle East, I'm sure the americans would be rubbing their hands together and getting their bombers ready to pounce at the first sign of weakness! Luckily all we have is some very old crumbling buildings and a lot of hairy armpits!Squeezyjohn
