I don't see how Camel "snus" and Marlboro "snus" would even appeal to dippers. I don't know hardly anyone that likes them, I am thinking their testers where American smokers.

"Then explain how Camel snus made it out of focus group testing."

They tested on the snus ignorant of course. All of us were naturally and a lot of us took quite a bit of getting used to the flavor profiles but we perservered because we were motivated. The flavors that make the cut are not as important, assuming they aren't godawful, compared to the strength of the product. Offering full strength portions will certainly differentiate this new effort from the weak pallid near-snus offered by Camel and Marlboro. It should provide an even better gateway into the real Swedish deal and encourage the company to expand their range.

I just wish General would make their Tobacco Cut and long cut chewing tobacco available to us Americans.

Available in multiple strengths with different sizes to choose from.

          A full 24 g for portions, 45 for loose.

Same manufacturing process as Swedish snus. Full disclosure of ingredients on packaging.

Plastic tins for storage. If I saw tins that looked like Swedish snus in a local market, I would weep with joy.

          Please, please make this happen!

Market testing needs to be done on current dippers and/or snusers. They're the ones who will be using the product. Smokers have a dulled sense of taste - I suspect this is why the Camel and Marlboro snus here tastes so disgustingly strong.

If I were to buy an American snus, I'd basically tell you to do what the Swedish companies are doing now. Learn through imitation of what makes them successful at first, and when you've become established, then branch out and start trying new, weird stuff.

How about a REAL Whiskey flavored snus. I am starting to think I'm the only one on the planet that likes whiskey flavor in tobacco.

Just not like that Probe shit. I just snatched my open tin out of the freezer as to start using up the misc. I've had laying around and I'm damn near gagging through these but I will persevere and finish the crap. I just have to do it whilst near the toilet.

INORITE? I'm telling ya. I'm tempted to take a shit in a teabag and shove that up my other lip and see which one tastes the shittiest.

I see many folks have suggested what I would suggest, a good basic tobacco flavor and maybe a mint/menthol/wintergreen that isn't overly sweet.

I think the current more common Swedish can shape is one most people associate with american dip, so I think other packaging styles may help make it more appealing. I like los snus but in reality cant go around with los between my teeth all day hence the portions are handy. One of my favorites is the Thunder frosted minis, as they are small enough to be discrete, but still have the nicotine of a full-sized snus.

I cannot imagine why the large American tobacco companies just didn't release a tried-and-true style snus with the time-tested flavors and strengths already market tested and proven elsewhere in the world! Had they done so I suspect they would have been far more successful than the "snus" available in American shops. Its as if these companies purposefully tried to screw up. I tried the Phillip Morris brand snus shipped from Sweden and I thought it was at least a passable snus, why didnt they try sell it here in shops? they have the distribution in place!!

As long as the nicotine was there I would buy just about ANY Swedish-style Snus if I could buy it locally for a realistic price. (less than cigarettes but enough to be able to have it properly packaged and advertised) I would also like to be assured of ingredients, as in just how much sodium and sugar are in a serving.

What I want in American snus is a guaranteed way of making the tobacco in which produces a result less harmful than other tobacco alternatives. Until then, I refuse to trust any American tobacco company.
