Fred Stoker & Son's Inc is no more :(

So I've been hearing some of the talk here and elsewhere about getting one of their catalogs as they seem like a decent tobacco company and produce chew, snuff, ect...

    Found this link: http://web3.userinstinct.com/4044349...r-sons-inc.htm

Proceeded to call the Phone # listed and was kindly told that they are going out of business as of this month due to the "New Federal Law" that was passed. I didn't get into the 'which one' was that or anything assuming first it was PACT but now thinking probably the FDA Reg.s since they are a tobacco producer?

I guess I got that right OR does anyone else know if Stoker brand will continue to be available via another name (buyout) or whatnot?

I think they sold to a small, but still largish tobacco producer, so their products will probably still be around in some capacity, but I don't know about availability, or quality.

I believe they just stopped mail-order. I see their items at my local tobacco shop. Haven't tried any though.

I rarely chew but I do like Stoker's the best. Hopefully the quality stays the same.

I work with a guy that uses the moist snuff. He buys it by the tub and refills his can out of it. I gave him a cussing one day because I was working near a trash can he was spitting into and the smell that was coming from his spit was horrendous. Freaking nasty stuff if you ask me. Going to Gatlinburg TN in about a week for vacation. Gonna snag me some hand made dip that supposedly has none of the additives that the likes of Skoal and Copenhagen etc has.
On side note I tried some King B twist a week ago. Lets just say that it didn't work out that for well.
Gotta pinch of Hawken in right now. Pretty good stuff flavor wise.

I surely hope they are still producing it even if going under another name. The lady I spoke with spoke as if they were going completely under. Guess time will tell. Think I'm gonna crack open the bag tonight and throw in a big chaw for in the nightly shower.
