Every AP Poll: Landslide win for GOP in 2 weeks

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101020/...on_homestretch

WASHINGTON – All signs point to huge Republican victories in two weeks, with the GOP now leading Democrats on virtually every measure in an Associated Press-GfK poll of people likely to vote in the first major elections of Barack Obama's presidency

In the final survey before Election Day, likely voters say the GOP would do a better job than Democrats on handling the economy, creating jobs and running the government.

Most also think the country's headed in the wrong direction. More than half disapprove of Obama's job performance And even more don't like the Democratic-controlled Congress.

Neither party is popular. But likely voters view the GOP a bit more positively than they do the Democrats. Slightly more say they will vote for the Republican congressional candidate in their district over the Democrat. And most think the GOP will win control of Congress from the Democrats.

"If we get some new blood in there who will do what the people want, maybe this can get turned around," said Sharon Klawender, 70, who lives in rural Kingston in Michigan, one of the most economically troubled states. She hopes Republicans will "get things back under control."

Like many others, Klawender bemoans outrageous spending in Washington and dismisses "stupid projects" paid for by Obama's economic stimulus plan. "Jobs are important," she says. "Houses left and right are being foreclosed."

Time is running out for the White House and Obama's Democrats to change the collective mind of a woefully pessimistic electorate trying to weather joblessness stuck near 10 percent. Many states already are voting.

Republicans are on the cusp of gains at all levels of government, benefiting from being in the minority during a campaign shaped by economic turmoil. Even Democrats acknowledge that the GOP is within reach of winning control of the House, picking up several Senate seats and taking over governor's posts across the ailing Midwest and elsewhere.

I agree. I would rather see mass firings of the incumbents. I don't care who takes power as it rarely makes a difference but we gotta get rid of the 20 term corruption.

I think that's an old paradigm. Fact of the matter is all these guys palms are greased by the same people. It really doesn't matter which party is in control or not. When both sides are "influenced" by the same people, the agenda will be pushed......

You might be right. I wonder which force is greater. Party domination, or money. I think it might be money....

Sgreger's so happy he could suck some dick lol. **** the GOP and **** the Dems. Obama made another visit to Seattle today. In August he came to the block I work on. Today he visited my Mom's block and she couldn't leave her house for a few hours. And they stick us for a $150,000 security bill for his trouble. Thanks, we're already cutting a ton of public services to stay afloat, we really needed another Patty Murray rally. On second thought, that GOP bastard Dino Rossi needs all the negative attention he can get. He's a real asshole., and he just can't win, thank god. CoderGuy, vote Murray would ya?

Seems like it's always playing catch up. Somebody has to make up for what the Republicans did. Somebody has to make up for what the Democrats did. Someday I hope people own up for their own mistakes, and work towards the genuine good of the American people, despite their own agendas - or the agendas of the people padding their pockets.

I agree with lx though, keeping things locked up means they can do less damage. I say they hold elections every year if you ask me, corporations would be stretched to donate money that ofteb and it would be election year EVERY YEAR!

Really though i still prefer evil over evil with a mask. At least bush didnt fool anyone lol. But really, if the reps win i am voting dem next election, and hope that the dems do what the reps have been doing and just gridlock the entire legislative process on every bill. If we can convince them to just block each others actions for a few years we may see our first decade of peace. Keep them busy, but not on passing laws, because thats when the most damage is done.

Lets start the tobacco party dude! Lol

The republicans make more visible mistakes imo, and the media gives it more play. This is goodbecause it instills distrust in government. People can openly see the corruption since they dont hide it as well as the dems.

But honestly corporations are backing republicans over dems like 3 to 1. I figured they would win. This is the first election where corporate money can decide elections. If that is the case than i expect we will see republicans for a while. They have most of the big players behind them, and now that said big players can openly spend as much as they want, i imagine reps will probably hold onto power for a while.

                        Huray for oligarchy!

I still haven't heard what the Republicans want to do for the country. My biggest issue is middle class jobs, and I just don't think that the GOP gives a shit about the middle class. There have been several bills offering incentives for US businesses to hire US workers, and the Republicans have filibustered every one of them.

None of these politicians are doing what should be done, if the goal is really to help the country and it's people. They are all tools in the Draco-Reptilian agenda, and we remain their slaves.

True. Let's have best of both worlds, dump all of the incumbents AND lock it up. Elections every year would be brutal, only in the regard that we would see non-stop campaign ads. I am so tired of seeing them one after another. Don't they realize every time I see one of their ads I want to vote for them less?
