Wikileaks rocks, check thsi out. They superimposed every reported death from the war in Iraq onto a browsable google fusion map. So many red dots!

The data from the report shows 3771 KIA in six years. For a little perspective the invasion of Iwo Jima resulted in 6800 KIA on the American side and nearly 22,000 on the Japanese side in just a few weeks. The Battle of the Bulge resulted in 19,000 U.S. forces KIA in about a month. I doubt the public today would countenance such losses under any circumstances up to and including an actual mass invasion of the country.

Whats youir point ? Did you know anyone at the world trade center ? I adhore any american dieing but sometimes you have to do somthing personaly I wouldn't care if they pulled all our troops out and turned the whole damn middle east to glass but then thats just my 2 cents iam sure others feel diffrent you have that right everyone a those soldiers died so you can have your opinion........

Maybe my thoughts are drastic but its how I feel ! 1 American soldiers death is to many ....

I duno maybe some parts a Califorina would give up but I doubt anyone would wana try invading say Tenn no not likely ! YMMV thou besides the gangs in California LA would most likely repel any invasion of there hoods :O) Thou in the end the 9th circuit would give it back to the enemy iam sure lol

Iam proud to bowl every week with a vet of the Iran war who was wounded 2x and the last one he was shot thru his vest and his dog tags stopped the bullet and saved his life . he did 2 tours . He has the list of his buddies tatooed on his arms that were killed there ! He is going to school to be a fireman any city should be proud to get him IMHO.

Since your new to the forum: I share your same views, I am a veteran of oif2 with the 82nd Airborne and my brother, also from the 82nd, has served 5 tours. I have preached for years about how amazingly low the casualty rates are for this war. We used to lose more guys trying to secure a hill back in the day than we have in nearly 10 years pf war with 2 countries. I say **** em, thy are not worth American blood, bring everyone home and leave them to war amongst themselves. Just like the ghetto, leave them to kill themselves, as long as they aren't in my neighborhood they are more than free to do whatever they please on their side of the fence.


After 911 they wanted to test balls, so we invaded 2 countries and obliterated their armies in a matter of months. We should have trashed the place and then left, flying signs on the rear of ours tanks that read "this is America and we don't play that shit". But instead we decided to stay and play policeman and try to bring democracy to the zoo. A waste of time, money, and good men if you ask me.

The map is all deaths, including murders by criminals. That's why the whole map is red. I think it's also a partial list since there were millions of deaths. It's interesting though no doubt.

Also the proportion of the dots makes it look like a ton more when you zoom out.

It also says every death...I'd take it with a grain of salt.

More soldiers in Iraq have committed suicide than have actually been murdered in the war and it's still going on.
