The amount of Mercedes Benz's on the road..

I must have never noticed before, but recently I've been seeing boatloads of new and newish Mercedes' on the roads.. Maybe it's just the particular part of New York that I live in...but god damn, nearly 1 out of every 6 cars I pass on the road is a newer Mercedes..

Not much of a point to this thread, just wanted to share.

In my area it's Lexus. Must be a regional thing. Wonder where the Ford F-150s hang out?

Yeah it's weird. I've been seeing a ton of them for sale on craigslist. Some are from the 80's even and are nice. I would never pay 60,000 for a new one but some of those used 10,000 ones look nice. Can't you get like 1,000,000,000 miles on those?

Where i lived earlier in the year, it was all ferraris and other super luxury cars. Keep in mind, the depression is only for normal people, the rich are doing fine right now and prospering more than ever. Its a great time to be selling lamborghini's!

Well. I see a Loy of everything down here. There is a Bently four spots down from me in my garage everyday. Along with a lot of other stuff. But BMW, Lexus and Mercedes are EVERYWHERE especially now that they have their lower class cars super cheap.

Seems like this would be the predominant vehicle down there

One thing I like about Ohio: people are modest with their money. Obviously, I see Mercedes on a daily basis, but it's a lot less compared to California. Also, I have only seen 5 Ferrari's in the five years I have lived here. I really got sick of the rampant materialism in Southern California, so the Midwest was a nice change for me.

In a recent conversation with a self made apartment slumlord the topic of used mercedes came up.
He said it will be his next purchase since the used one's are so cheap now.

and we have plenty of F-150's up North also, not very many convertibles.

I'll give a Benz this, they are pretty darn reliable, despite being a pain to work on. Kind of like Volvo. I used to hate Volvo till I owned one, loved driving that car, then I opened the hood, hated it all over again.

At least in my experience, imports are fun until the repairs come. A VW scirrocco I had was always in the shop and was just too damn expensive to fix. The shops treated it like somekind of sports car when it was really a piece of shi

As a person whose automotive repair and maintenance budget is based on what I can do myself in my garage there is a reason I can appreciate a Chevy and a Harley.

The way the middle class is headed in this country, all you will see soon is Benz, beemers, etc. But the buses will be full.
