    Stand-up comedy, your favorites?

Mine is without a doubt George Carlin. I blew my tax refund today on the following:

    George Carlin: All My Stuff

This 14-disc career retrospective set includes all twelve of George Carlin s HBO concert specials, spanning nearly thirty years. One of the greatest comedians of our time performs all of his memorable routines including: Baseball and Football, A Place for My Stuff, Losing Things, Al Sleet the Hippie-Dippie Weather Man, Hitler, We Like War, It s Not A Sport, Why We Don't Need Ten Commandments and Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television.

Two bonus discs round out this collection: an interview disc titled George on George and an exclusive 75 minute video interview with Carlin that was taped in April of 2007 as part of XM Radio s Artist Confidential series.

George Carlin: All My Stuff includes performances:
On Location: George Carlin At USC 77
    George Carlin Again! 78
    Carlin At Carnegie 82
    Carlin On Campus 84
    Playing With Your Head 86
What Am I Doing In New Jersey? 88
    Doin It Again 90
    Jammin In New York 92
    Back In Town 96
    You Are All Diseased 99
    Complaints and Grievances 01
    Life Is Worth Losing 05

    ===

Also a D.L. Hughley, Chris Rock, Doug Stanhope, and Wanda Sykes fan. The closest comic to usurping Carlin as my king of comedy is likely Chris Rock.

I liked old Carlin, but You Are All Diseased really was when he grabbed my attention - after straightening his head out there was suddenly a hilariously sober, bitter, and scathing man on stage who was just on a rip of a rant. Brilliant stuff.

    ...and who can forget :

How could I forget Bill Hicks? Mitch Hedberg was also great.

found this a little while ago and I think the guy is a scream:

I always thought Bill Hicks was really funny and recently I found about Eddie Izzard. Stephen Wright is an amazing and unique comic and sometimes for days after I watch him I think about his stuff and laugh.

EDIT: Wow, cool. Lots of Bill Hicks fans here

Yeah, Mitch Hedberg was great. My man was a mess though. You can just look at him and see how high on cocaine he is every time he performed. Had a great time doin it and provided us with many laughs in the process!

                In that order.

Both of those guys were AWESOME; definitely in my top 5. I'd like to add the late, great Sam Kinison to that list...

I love Carlin. Bill Hicks is one of my all-time favorites. A lot of the new comics "don't get it". Here are two guys I think "get it".

I like Dane Cook. I know he's kinda sold out to acting now but I think his standup is hilarious. Jim Gaffigan is one of my fav's. I watched some of Kevin James' stuff a while back and laughed my ass off. Dave Chapell of course. With me being a natural bred redneck I love Rodney Carrington. I think he directs his stuff specifically toward the country type so, If you're not the country type his comedy may be hard to appreciate. I guess I really like the more popular standup guys. Oh ya.........and I don't know if Lewis Black does standup, but that guy is disgustingly rude and it's funny.
