Of all the cans I would collect were I to be a can collecter, the 4 loco cans would not be one. lololol.

I would like to see these types of drinks stay around, as they really are an effective catalyst to social Darwinism.

Caffeine and alcohol are both legal products. I think it's ridiculous the government suddenly decided to ban this product after reported "incidents" where the product happened to be found. Remember, the FDA that now wants to ban Four Loko was the same FDA that approved it for consumption a few years ago. What's next? Will they ban vodka and Red Bull from being served at bars?

I don't think they'll ban mixed drinks at bars. I think it's just the pre-mixed stuff they're going after (to "prevent the promotion of alcohol to kids", not that I agree with this point of view or anything). A kid could obtain alcohol from an irresponsible adult, but getting into a bar is another thing.
Even if they did ban the mixing of alcohol with a caffeinated product in bars, I'm sure the bars will use a legal loophole (ex. you buy a drink and a Red Bull separately and they'll let you mix it yourself if you so choose).
But, I just don't see a ban on mixed bar drinks happening.Words of Wisdom

Three Space Needles on the forum. And one King Dome lol. Awesome. Where do you live, Seattleite? Sorry to derail the thread. I'm on Nickerson by the the south side of the Ballard Bridge. I work on Washington St. in Pioneer Sq. a block from 1st and Yesler where one of the Tobacco Patch stores is. I've been buying and getting used to General OP there a couple times per week, still holding out on a post-PACT order still and hanging onto the few cans of lös I have and the bi-weekly can of General portions. I've tried to talk the owner of Tobacco Patch up in the Market into expanding the line, tried to tell him I had contact info for a distributer for Northerner (a member of this forum)... sounds like they are sticking with General for a while. Wouldn't mind seeing some Thunder or Gotlands in those stores, and these days it's a reality in some places.

Right now, I've been in Alaska for the past 4-5 years (though I'm in the process of moving back to Washington). I was born in Seattle and lived right across the floating bridge in Bellevue.
I'm curious, how much does a can of General go for down there?
[You can't buy Swedish snus here. The only snus that's available is Marlboro, and those things are going for $2.68/pack + tax (they only have 6 portions in the package... That's over $11 for the equivalent of a 24-portion can of real snus!)]
[Edit (and slightly on-topic): I just got back from the liquor store, and I noticed they jacked up the price to $2.89/pack... Now it's $12 and a quarter for 24 portions.. CRAZY! I'm definitely glad I found this website]Words of Wisdom

You don't want to know how much General costs here. OK yea you do -- $8.80 I ithink, just about 40-50 cents cheaper than most cigs. I sorely miss the days when I could male small orders and still get it at $3 per can, or less with larger orders. I haven't done it yet, but these days if you order several rolls on buysnus it comes out to about $6. When local taxes are charged (on other sites) its still about $8. It's crazy. If it's been a few ywars since you've been back you'll be blown away by the price of cigs now. 2nd or 3rd highest in the nation -- I don't care to look it up. $9.50 tho is what my girl pays at gas stations for Parliament Lights.

Yeah washington's taxes on tobacco suck, everything there is so freaking expensive. Snus is like 5.60 or so here which is still a fair amount but better than I think 7 a can after sales tax was the cheapest I found (at F.W. Kirsten's in Ballard). I noticed too pipe tobacco is taxed ad valoreum there too which sucks I bought a can of Irish flake for 18 bucks and found it's normally like 7-10 dollars, but cheaper stuff isn't as bad.
Edit: Oh and the government banning four loko makes me want to try it, I've had sparks before and that stuff does sneak up on you and hit pretty hard Four lokos alcohol content sounds like I may as well just drink some straight vodka.

They already do ban certain types of mixed drinks in some (and sometimes most) states. A combination of legal products should not be illegal. This is flat out nonsesne.
This is like here in San Fran they are about to mandate that all packs of cigarettes have terrible images of death and black lungs and stuff on the package. And not just part of the package, it will be the entire package and only leave room for the brand name in small print on the bottom. I think it's rediculous that if your selling a legal product that the gov can mandate that you put images on it to deter consumers from buying your product, or to say you have to take legal ingredients out of your products is equally rediculous.
The FDA has just set the precedent that it can come in an take the caffein out of any beverage. What if they did that with Coca Cola? What if they just came in and forced them? They can do that now apparently.

Yeah F.W. Kirsten in Ballard at the fisherman's terminal, I live in california (college, I grew up in seattle and bellevue) and a local liquor store started carrying it not that you'd be able to tell in million years they had a general sign near the front of the store, the guy was saying he didn't sell much and I was told him well duh if no one knows it exists and they don't know that you have it the cans are somewhat old but he sold me their general white stock at a discount, the other shop I bought it from sold general for 5.75 which is 6.50 or so after tax. I had a local cigar/hookah store in bellevue start carrying the sample packs which he sold for 1.49 which wasn't bad. Camel snus is about 4 bucks but you can get it on special for 3.00 or so not that I'd want to really, I might give winterchill a try since robust was palatable.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
So Four Loko got the boot, but **** it, because there's something new for college kids to kill themselves with: 18% Alcoholic Whipped Cream
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...m-topping.html
Get some of that whipped cream on your coffee, or maybe a jello shot. Man, 18% whipped cream would be AWESOME on some coffee or pie. Absolute win.
