Owens that really does suck ass and I admire your restraint. I've personally never had anything like that happen to one of our dogs. If it did then i can't say how i'd react. I'm sure i'd be thinking of various creative ways to get even. Personally i think the speed bump idea is probably the best way to go.

Thanks everyone for you kind words, and excellent suggestions. Especially lx's idea for a new pet, I can get one of those in my yard, lol.

Anyways, I've talked to the Sherriff, Highway Patrol, and a Lawyer. They pretty much all say there is not a damn thing I can do about it, because it happened on private property. The best I got was the CHP saying they would have an extra patrol in the area to look for her. The lawyer said I can file a civil suit, but that it probably would'nt get me anything but lawyer bills. He said that although I live in a rural area, that the state of CA itself has a leash law that applies to the whole state. Such bullsh*t. As long as it isn't their dog, than its "just a dog" to them, it seems.

I am truly surprised in myself, that I haven't "retaliated" in any way(so far). Years ago I definately would have wrecked some sh*t by now...

So far I put up a bunch of "Slow: children and pets" signs down the driveway, but I dont think either neighbor would be down with speedbumps. Id like to install an electronic spike strip that can be retracted hidden into the ground, and activated with the push of a button, that would slow her down. Then she could wonder why she's spending all her weed money on tires every month...
