Oh, man, there are so many great movies I don't know how I can limit a list to just a few.

My favorite DeNiro movie has got to be Raging Bull. I really enjoyed Avatar, but I don't think I would include it on a list of greats. Certainly very entertaining, though.

Some of my top favorites over the past few years have been Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Sling Blade, No Country for Old Men, and Apocalypto. Crazy Hearts with Jeff Bridges was depressing, but superb.

Again, there are really too many to try to mention, especially if I had to go back to the 50's, 60's, and 70's.

Just recently watched the Boondock Saints 2. Good movie, almost as good as the original. Definitely worth a second watch though

While i did enjoy Boondock Saints 2, IMO it was too much of the same. Pretty much the same jokes and situations through out, probably nitpicking as i don't know how many other directions a sequel for the first could have gone. I'm glad they kept all the same actors from the first.

I realize some of you enjoy movies for purely for escapism from the stresses and worries of life, if that applies to you, this film is not for you.

One of my favorite documentaries is Food Matters. As the title suggests, it talks about how detrimental unnatural processed food is to your health and how simply eating correctly and getting nutrients/ vitamins that aren't found in fast food and boxed foods can help your body heal itself.

There are 'cases' (pretty much stories) of large doses of vitamin c helping extend the life or quality of cancer patients. There are many other diseases that can be reversed or at least improve the quality of life for the sufferer. I singled out cancer since it has majorly impacted my life. I wish i knew all of this when my parents were being bombarded with the toxicity of chemo and radiation treatments. At least a healthy option for patients.

We are too conditioned to the thinking 'a pill for an ill'. If nothing else, the film will make you at least think about what you are putting into your body. It certainly opened my eyes.

Just watched Leaves of Grass starring Edward Norton. Had never heard of the movie before i watched it, but it was great. Norton plays twin brothers, one is a philosophy professor, and the other is a pot grower. It's edited very well. A few times i forgot both characters were norton.

It has a coen brothers vibe to me. Probably one of the reasons i enjoyed it so much. It is a great movie, one of my new favorites.

OK!

I saw the new movie, Battle: Los Angeles.
It is pretty good. I didn't think it was great, but I did enjoy it. Non stop action, but done in a way you know what's going on. Decent acting, cool effects. I liked the ET design and their tech. Ending was OK too. I'd recommend it.

I might have to check out that movie Tom. I read an article where they mentioned it (maybe on space.com?) saying that if we were visited by extraterrestrials they would more than likely be in the from of robots/probes/AI, whatever you want to call it. Even though i never thought of it that way it does make sense as it'd be much easier for machines to travel the immense distances of space than organic life.

Just watched For All Mankind. A fantastic documentary on the Apollo missions with interviews, narration, and film by the astronauts. It's amazing.

That movie was brilliant, I just saw it a few days ago. I could not recommend it enough, just an extremely well made/written movie.
