Guitar Hero controllers with Rock Band games compatibility

For those of you that play the music games on the Xbox 360, I was wondering if the Guitar Hero controllers work with Rock Band Games? My son likes the guitar better from Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock but seems to like the songs better from Rock Band.

I tried google but I only saw older posts from 2007 & 2008.

I'm not sure, I hope someone with more info pops up here. I have a Wii and all the GH hero games. The GH guitar did work with Lego Rockband. That's my only experience though. Sorry not more helpful.

You have to buy the controller for your particular system. It should say what type on the side of the box. I just got back from WalMart, I know is sacrilege, but they were selling Guitar Hero games for $7.00. They even had boxes and boxes of the band sets for $75.00.

There is also supposed to be a game out soon called Guitar Rising that actually teaches you how to use a real guitar while you are playing but I am not sure when that will be out or if it is even out already.
