Gotta step in here for truth's sake and point out that modern day Iran is not Arab at all, they are Persians, and understanding this divide will go a long way toward understanding the region. The divide runs very, very deep (Persians, for one, are in vast majority Shia Muslims while the Arabs are Sunni). Iran doesn't give much of a shit about the Arab world, and vice versa. They support Hezbollah because that organization supports Shia interests. As far as the Sunnis go (including all of Saudi Arabia), they hate the Persians' guts and the feeling is mutual.

Roo I was wondering when someone was going to point that out. I had an Iranian room mate in college, early 70s, before the Shah fell, and witnessed this antipathy first hand so yeah that divide runs seriously deep. Of course now like all good Islamic theocracies they, the mullahs that is, hate infidel entrails about as much as any other perceived Muslim apostates.

How about a respectable government? Not this pathetic piece of garbage we have now. It goes back to the old saying, "lead by example." WTF kind of example is the US government setting? If they are/have been doing this just with the stuff in the middle east, what information did we not know about during all other conflicts?

What if Wikileaks existed during WWII? What if we found out that the collection of ships in Pearl Harbor and the failure to alert the military of incoming Japanese planes was all a set-up? Seriously. WTF would think of your infallible government (general statement to anyone reading this that supports the government in their actions and thinks Wikileaks is a terrorist threat).

Hell. Let's push this one more step: what if you found out the truth about JFK? All because Wikileaks had the info and galls to release it. Worlds would crumble.

We've been lied to. Pure and frakking simple. Someone has the galls enough to finally say, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any longer!"
Thus, Wikileaks. Any person that perceives them to be a terrorist threat is a charlatan or fool.

I mean, the wind bags on The View and frakking "Opera" deem people that Opt Out of pat downs and body scans terrorists. By this time next year, a great majority of the population within the United States will see everyone and everything as a terrorist threat.

Anyone that wants to quiet Wikileaks is a person that refuses to accept the truth, because it's bad. Just as they always say, truth hurts.
