Assange Arrested - BOYCOTT SWEDISH PRODUCTS!!!

    “BOYCOTT SWEDISH PRODUCTS!!!

Wait a minute, ARE there any Swedish products? All I can think of are tiny meatballs, Abba songs and Saabs.”

    They forgot about Swedish Snus.

One person said he would have burned all his Abba 8 tracks if he had any.

Lol, definately barking up the wrong tree with that request!

I am surprised to even hear sweden in the news. They need their fair share of negative publicity, the US has hogged the stage long enough lol.

I will say my opinion of Sweden has been reduced a bit after the Wikileaks stuff, and Pirate Bay cases. I supose I romanticized it a bit, but I've considered Sweden just a bit better when it comes to thinking, and doing the right thing.

I wouldn't really worry about his arrest. He isn't being charged with anything that serious. He is being charged with "sex by surprise", which essentially boils down to just not wearing a condom. He was banging two chicks at the same time and they got smart to it and tried to claim he coerced them into not using a condom. The fine for this offense is $740, it's not a big deal at all. The US government has yet to make even 1 formal alligation of criminal conduct. Even while he is in custody, they cannot get him on anything because he has done nothing illegal.

The democrats (particularly Mrs. Feinstein of CA) want to prosecute him based on the Espionage act, btu that won't stick. He hasn't done anything that every major newspaper hasn't done.

My concern is that rules will be bent/broken so the government can do what it wants. They've already engaged in criminal behavior by DDOSing his sites. There's no reason it'll stop there.

                  Bingo.

Although I doubt the US gov't will whack him (he isn't Muslim and brown so people will take notice), but they'll definitely make his life miserable.

Just wondering cause i cant really tell from the above post, are you guys in support of Wiki or don't matter either way? Anyway I read MasterCard was pulling the plug on WikiLeaks cause they were engaging in illegal activities. I don't/ haven't really been following any of this. I just catch an article from time to time.

Wikileaks did nothing illegal. Newspapers enjoy the same rights when it comes to leaking classified information (Watergate, anyone?). I find the various reactions (PayPal, MasterCard, that Swiss bank) rather disturbing and a tell-tale sign of how in-control our world governments want to be. On top of the media spin the US outlets are doing.

I really hope our braindead power-hungry congressmen (from both sides) don't decide to turn the free internet into the Great Firewall of China.

Definitely against. Wish we could hang him. Seriously though, if he were American my feelings would be those but he has no obligation to protect our secrets.

Huh? You're against these leaks (and future ones) which will reveal to the world the extent of our manipulative diplomacy?
