    Stop-Gap Jobs

Just wondered whether anyone has been able to find themselves a stop-gap job after loosing their job and going through a period of unemployment desparately trying to find something else? Maybe making money selling on E-Bay or finding freelance work through websites? There seem to be a multitude of scams out there and very little in the way of genuine opportunites unless I'm missing something?

Being in this position myself at the moment I would be very interested to hear of any experiences people have had.

    Here's a few ideas...

Busking on the street - Play an instrument? Maybe you like Shakespearian plays, do a one man Shakespeare routine.

Handyman - Paint houses, leaf removal, junk removal, gutter repair...

    Computer repair

Seasonal holiday work at a chain store

Art - is there something you do well? make and sell it on Ebay.

    Panhandling :^D

Unofficial work is better than official work imo. It's all profit, so you can get away with making less.

I'm not myself in that position .... but I would still be looking for a job.... it's more secure...
If you're interested in freelancing be careful ... there's a lot of scammers online ...

I was going to suggest working at home doing tech support for the company I work for, but just noticed you live in the UK. You might have opportunities like that available though. Just be careful for scams.

          Sell some drugs?

I agree with LX, you'll make more as a panhandler than at a minimum wage job. The bums here make a little over 50-100 a day depending on how good your spot is. And it's all tax free!!!

Lol, look for temp agencies, work at subway sandwiches or whatever the genereic fast food equivalent of that is in the UK. String together a few part time jobs working at a burger joint or something.

ever thought about a job in the porn industry? Invest in a decent pair of rubber gloves and maybe you can get a job as the "clean-up" guy.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

This sounds interesting. Would you have a link to their website? Would be interested in having a read to see if there's something similar available in the UK.

I thought this was a thread about destroying "the gap" employees with their fleece hoodies and communist agenda.
