THE PATRIOT APP: Snitch on your fellow Americans

Just got the new "Patriot App" the gov launched today. It allows you to report suspicious activity or national security threats. When you click on it, it allows you to provide names, addresses, phone numbers etc of people who you found to be suspicious. Additionally you can report a pandemic or other public health issues, as well as view the "Most Wanted" list (which is a giant list of all Muslims).



The most ironic feature is the ability to become a "whistle blower". you can report an incident at your company etc. It's ironic because the US is actively trying to prosecute a whistleblower AS WE SPEAK (Julian Assange), but surely you should feel free to blow the whistle any time you want.

After you submit your report it says "Thank you for being a true patriot and keeping the safety of your country in mind." <--- LOLOLOLOL





I suggest everyone with an iphone download this and spam it with fake reports. I am making one about how I think my kitten is a terrorist right now.

Man you could send so much stuff to suspicious activity. It seems like a mixed app, crime report, product and environmental safety don't belong on it really. Government waste makes me think it was made by someone not in the government, I think it's way too freaking broad to be real some guy probably just made it for fun. Either that or it shows some level of incompetence. I like pandemic and crime since I think my first thought if I saw someone rob a store wouldn't be hey let's get the patriot app out.

The best part is how when you first start it it asks if it can "use your locatioN", which for those of you iwthout iphones mean that they can access your GPS signal to use your location when you report things etc. But it essentially gives the app unfettered access to your location at all times.



I have decided I am goign to constantly "report" congressmen. Every time I see somethign I don't like, I am going to submit their name to the suspicious person's department loll.

It says it's from The Department of Homeland Security. I don't know, it's hard to tell. It's all over the news though, and everyone is reporting it's from DHS so I am assuming that's where it's from. It is formatteds imilar to other government apps.

This App just makes me laugh. It’s called the Patriot App [iTunes link], and it’s designed to “[empower] citizens to assist government agencies in creating safer, cleaner, and more efficient communities via social networking and mobile technology.” That sounds suspiciously like the App intends to create a network of informants, but whatever. This is the world we live in now: if you see something, say something, no thinking allowed.

The App was created by a company called PatriotAppTV, which Info Wars says was founded by “insiders from [the Department of Homeland Security].” The App’s philosophy?

This app was founded on the belief that citizens can provide the most sophisticated and broad network of eyes and ears necessary to prevent terrorism, crime, environmental negligence, or other malicious behavior.

Woo, we’re all members of Civil Protection! Pick up that can!

The App lets people connect with organizations such as the FBI to report “suspicious activities” and matters dealing with national security.

At the very least the App is free.

After reading about 5 stories on this, it seems that DHS employees or those working closely with DHS made this app. Sort of like DHS contracted the app to be built, but by a third party. Either way, it is sanctioned by the DHS and reports issues directly to the various agencies which DHS oversees.


I just think it's funny. Imagine if Bush had done this? Omg everyone would be in a fluster.
