Website Design (Techies, help me out!)

There are many flash templates out there you can edit without a flash editor. All the important stuff you would need to change is in settings files and template .html files. That is why I was saying basic html knowledge is all you would need to use those.

I got a template, but it seems as though you must have a program that can edit .fla files. I'm still trying to figure it out, as there is no real instructions. Hopefully I can edit this without having to use a flash editor.

Is this a free template, hit me up in msg and maybe you can email me the files and i can look at them. I have helped set up a couple of them in the past for photographers as they are a group that demands flash based web sites.

That would be sweet man. It's a paid template, I just need to know which file to edit. I will pm you when I get home and send it to you, and maybe you can at least tell me which file to edit? I only need to switch out text and pictures, and the place I got it fom says it's easy to change without having to modify and recompile the .fla but I can't figure out how.

So. Figured it out. Got adobe flash trial to work. Man I wish I could afford this kind of software, Photoshop and flash in particular. Unfortunately I can't justify spending $600 just so I can play around with pictures.

Anyways, I'll post the link tomorrow once I'm finished with the site.

I just got to your email about 15 minutes ago and now saw this. Sorry I couldn't look sooner but I ended up going from rehearsal to food prep to sleep.

Oh no problem dude. Not much you could have done anyways, as the end result was that I needed to access an .fla file but didn't have the software. Now that i have the software I am good to go. I'll post the link to the almost finished site here later for anyone who wants to see. I am going to be ****ed after this 30 day trial period though. That is the biggest downside to flash is that you must have the proper software to edit it's content, you can't just use textpad or something.

Dude, anyone with a website needs to download the "FTPOnTheGo" iphone app. you can upload/download anything to/from the server, and even edit your html right from your phone. I love the future!

Again a reason I stay away from flash. However I will mention again there are probably better flash templates out there that give you everything you need in some simple text or even xml configuration files so that you don't need flash to make changes.
