    F*ck The Cleaning Services

Today I've called in 2 guy to clean up a few things in the house (one kitchen sofa, two bedroom sofas, and one carpet (3 squarred metres)

I mean I was about to jump to ones neck when he told me how much the whole thing costs me - $250

I mean is that possible? Did you guys try the steam cleaner services ever? They haven't even told me a price before.

Fuc* them in the guts I was simply mad, had to pay though.

Not sure if you can rent steam cleaners over in your location but that may be a cheaper option for you.

In a semi-related story, back in Nov. our maid decided to wipe down our 50inch flat panel lcd TV. She must have used a cloth with some kind of grit in it and f@cked the entire screen up with scratches. So yeah, I hear ya.....you want a job done right...do it yourself.

That sounds pretty excessive for such a small area. I've certainly never paid that much. You should just go rent one of those rug doctors machines and done it yourself lol.

          Just as I thought

The fuc*ing bastards have just tried to fool me . But true enough .... the price was correct... according to their list

Sorry to say it, but the Romanian companies in Norway has a much more afordable price...
Damn it, I jut got more annoyed .... considering Norway is the most expesive country ...

You can't rent these machines yet in Romania, the market has only exploded as a service ... mainly car wash.....
Probably they will be out for rent soon and it'll come cheaper....

I was about to kill one of those guys =))

I mean I even have them sit for lunch, wash all those ****ing machines in my bathtub and they tried to fool me it's pathetic

4 hours of work isn't worth $250 (speaking of cleaning here not programming) :-(

I know Romania is a much cheaper country, but by Norwegian standards, the price is actually low. If they come from a company, not all the money ends up in the washmens pocket. Some has to go to company, some for transport, some for covering insurances etc and finally about 50 dollars left for the worker. If this was Norway, and the company was Norwegian, I'd doubled the price, maybe tripled it. But yes, the salaries are much higher over here as well. I read that even though Norway is probably the world's most expensive country, Norwegians use the smallest part of ther salaries on food, living etc. in the world. No wonder my 5 yo cousin has a 50 inch Sony Bravia in his room...

I know how businesses work, and they're expenses in quite a lot of fields..

99% of the Romanians earn $250 a month as a salary ... can you sell such a service in this case? I believe not.

That's sick. I didn't think that was the case for an EU member.

                  Yep.

Many members in the EU have very low salaries.

Here's an exact number/example (Professional Nurse average salary PPP $ 523 NET $ 268 Monthly Income Mostly Women employees. Men make 1,191 new lei per month. 1,105 (that's $300) new lei 30% 38.8)

Bulgaria - Average salary for Bulgaria 250 Euros ... that I am aware of ...

It costs my wife £120 pound to get her hair done - a cut and a colour, two hours work = £60 an hour. They're taking the piss.

That steam cleaning was expensive though.

Personal cleaning has been prohibitively expensive in first-world countries for the past half-century at least... no big surprise here.

There is no reason to call a cleaning service to clean so few things. Any service call should only be made if there is a large job to do or in an emergency. That's like calling a plumber to plunge your toliet. Of course it costs too much, you have to pay 99 bucks just to get the truck to the door. This is a necessity in the business, but it makes small jobs pricey.

The clear alternative here in America is to rent a machine and then drive to the back of the home depot parking lot and pick up some day laborers. I don't really know what one would do in Europe. Maybe you should just become an artist and claim indifference to the mess?

In the UK there are a lot of Polish people doing this cheap.
I had my sofas, dining chairs and carpets cleaned and scotch guarded for £60.

                            who cleans?
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Steam cleaning is extremely good thing though but still that price seems steep at Romanian standards, it'd be high here too.

I got my last steam cleaning free as 'a friend of ours'-type thing. I wonder what I have to do to return favour...
