Frosted I like your signature. When I order take-away food from asian restaurants and they ask my name, I say "Jay". When they ask me to spell it, I say... "J. Just J". My name is Jered, but no one gets that right. And I'm sick of being called Jerry. Sorry I didn't know where else to put that. Precious007, do it yourself dude. Or ask next time what it costs lol. Also, why do you have sofas in your kitchen?

It's annoying .... I'm over it now... at least now I know I won't call them in again EVER!
The problem was that this furniture is like 10 years old and the dirt was so thick especially on the kitchen sofa from all the oils and vapors in there... and there was no way to clean it except with steam cleaners..... they're like new now ... but hell was expensive :-)
Precious, you should buy yourself a steam cleaner and go into business. Sounds like a license to print to money ;-)
The whole thing would cost me like $20,000 for an indoor machine and one for outdoors ... apart from that there are a whole lot of other taxes and money to be spent to start.... hm ...
Here's one steam cleaner - http://www.daimer.com/steam-cleaners...et-10130cv.htm
approx. $24,000 ...
Second hand ones are a lot cheaper...

There's a Polish woman coming to our house every thursday, for three-six hours. We pay her 100 NOK, or 17 USD for every hour. This is an extremely low salary in Norway. A fifteen yo could earn the same by working in a store. We have wanted to double her salary, but she doesn't want to.
If it's necessary, she can bring a steam cleaner. She has cleaned our hall carpet with it once.

The average salary in Norway is around $3000/$3200 ... that's roughly $18 per hour ... so that's not an extremely low salary that's actually the average salary in Norway that is earned by someone with a university degree.
Here's more information - http://www.ssb.no/lonn/main.shtml
And what do you mean she doesn't want her salary doubled ... I mean who would not want a double wage/income monthly, rolf ?!?!

Wait, in Norawy a degree only gets you $18 an hour? Good God, how do you live on that? I guess if it's after taxes than that's pretty decent considering Norway's extensive social services.

Doing some math this comes out at about $41 per hour.
Originally posted by Hanske View PostThat's not correct. These numbers are taken after taxes has been payed. People receiving social support has also been counted with. AND, I believe you have counted to many hours. Norwegians work as an average 34 hours a week.
and an average week would be 39 hours(possibly a bit more).
