I can't see the video, what is it about? The constitution was written by numerous individuals with a variety of varying political and religious stances, surely no one group is trying to claim that they wholesale own the constitution or take sole credit for it's existence, right?

The liberals that wrote the US constitution would be categorized as Classical Liberals
Today classical liberals are called libertarians.

I wasnt talking about the guy in the video who blatantly warped the facts as he saw fit. I am talking about your vid posts. They are truly mind numbing in their idiocy... no offense to you personally of course, but over half of your posts are Olberman vids. Now I truly feel Olberman is to the Democrat party as Hannity is to the Republican party. You cannot watch either show when you have an opinion you formed on logic, because watching either of those guys twist the facts into their favor will leave you screaming at the television.

Its not a good source of information...

I honestly believe you post them just for the reaction as a good portion here seem to oppose the views regurgitated in them.

Maybe I will start slapping up some Glenn Beck nonsense as a retort lol. Although sometimes Beck actually finds a long winded way of getting around to the point as he writes on his blackboard like his viewers are in grade school. Nah hes still a moron though.

Seriously cable political opinion shows are not to be trusted on either side....EVER!

That's your opinion. I haven't posted any in awhile. I thought this one contained some
interesting info such as the constitution creating a federal government for the people's
welfare rather than the "state's rights" the Tea Party is always chanting.

Joe, your view of history is a little off. Those "states rights" were a huge issue back then. The federal government arose out of need for centralized planning for things like supplies to the troops. With no central government, the army had no supply system in place, and it was murder. They needed someone to handle foreign relations for all of the member states, and to maintain a standing army for defense etc etc.

The federal government was never intended to be the central authority on everything, whose soul purpose is bringing all states into compliance with 1 uniform set of rules that it chooses at a whim of whoever is running congress at the time.

In a nation of 300 million people and divided into 50 pieces, it's hard to function efficiently when you have 1 entity deciding what the rules are for everyone. We are too much of a melting pot, too many interest groups all fighting for their piece of the pie. This is why I think we should dissolve much of the federal government and strip congress of most of it's power, and then allow states to make their own rules. If your a redneck gun-toting hunter, than there's a state for that. If your an uptight yuppie who wants to live in a place like san francisco, than there's a place for your too. Because otherwise there is no way for that many people to agree on one set of rules.

And why are you such a big supporter of the federal government and the current (and by association the last) administration anyways? Do you feel they are operating for the welfare of the people right now? Much of of it is, like the EPA and such, but a HUGE chunk of the federal government has directed it's attention towards harassing it's own citizens and starting wars. Not exactly what I would call looking out for the welfare of the people. Perhaps your constitutional law professor just never thought of it that way though.
