Blame it on a lone nut. When was the last time a Republican was shot by
a lone nut in this manner?
Reagan is the last one I remember.

Ramblings of the shooter from youTube Video

Then Loughner shifts his discussion to the “new currency.” The writings are nonsensical.
“Every human who’s mentally capable is always able to be treasurer of their new currency. If you create one new currency then you’re able to create a second new currency. If you’re able to create second new currency then you’re able to create third new currency. You create one new currency. Thus, you’re able to create a third currency.”
That video also was posted Dec. 15.
On Nov. 30, Laughner apparently posted a rant about the education he is getting at Pima Community College. He writes that the classes and grades offered there are unconstitutional. "If the police remove you from the educational facility for talking then removing you from the educational facility for talking is unconstitutional in the United States."

Joe, you are the one making excuses for the fascists. The fascists are the ones in office, not some group of rednecks that is currently enjoying it's 15 minutes of fame.

Instead of pointing their attention to the fascist criminals in the white house who have wholesale sold us out and ensured defeat, they instead have 24/7 non-stop coverage of every little thing the t-party does, even though they do not control shit in government.

Stop paying attention to the tea party which controls nothing, focus your attention on the criminals in office. They are the real fascists. They are the ones who are, as we speak, selling us out to corporations and funneling money to the rich. Obama has proven after 3 years that he is going to follow the same marching orders as the last administration. THAT should be what is getting attention, not the ****ing redneck brigade.

This cannot be repeated enough. Joe, you and I probably share very similar views but you get caught up in the whole political stage play and focus on whatever the loonies or demagogues on both sides are saying or doing.

Yeah sure, it'll only be the dems who politicize the event. And "conservative advances" is an oxymoron.

There's something to what you say. However the redneck brigade can be distracting.

Bo Dietl, on Fox News, blamed it on the shooter's pot smoking.
He said he has been smoking pot for years with little
              sprinkles on it.

I don't know why you even listen to fox news. I can't even tell you the last time I turned it on. This is probably why their ratings are so high.

Anyways, stop worrying about the tea party, they are just a bunch of angry rednecks who are naturally pissed because the government sucks and the country has become shit. They are mad about the same things as you, they are just less articulate about it.

Since we have like 20 millions threads on this topic, I will cross post the updates from the other thread:

                Irony:

Words from Rep. Giffords: “Are you afraid? Are you fearful today? You know, I'm not... we’re on Sarah Palin’s targeted list, but the way she has it depicted has the crosshairs of a gunsight over our district. And when people do that, they’ve gotta realize that there’s consequences to that action.”

I was an intern for Rep. Giffords, her outreach coordinator Gabe Zimmerman was killed today. I will miss him terribly. Please read...

Local news reporting the 9 year old killed in today's shooting was born on 9/11 and featured in the book 'Faces of Hope' featuring infants born on that day. Page 41 of this link, she was born in Maryland.

Giffords Opponent, Jesse Kelly, Held June Event to Shoot a Fully Automatic M16 to "Get on Target" and Remove Gabrielle Giffords

And here's one for you Joe. Keith olberman apologizing because he is constantly saying inflamatory shit:

Keith Olbermann special comment on the shooting in Tuscon- "Violence, or the threat of violence, has no place in our Democracy, and I apologize for and repudiate any act or any thing in my past that may have even inadvertently encouraged violence."

Sarah Palin's website literally put crosshairs on Gabrielle Giffords and 19 other congress members

Sharron Angle said that if the elections don't go her way then there should be "Second Amendment solutions" instead. I guess she got what she wished for.

The SPLC is a fraud joke group, and whenever they are called in for any comment, the whole thing loses credibility. These people are hucksters, like Al Sharpton, with an extreme leftist ideology, they make their millions trying to make people think violent "nazis" are hiding behind every corner.

This guy obviously has a leftist leaning, Orwell, Huxley, and Marx are not top heroes of the right. But his actions seem to me, to be more of a mental instability than any defined political motivation.

I work as a mental health professional and though there does seem to be some psychosis at play, I think that, those on all sides peddling violent rhetoric should take some responsibility for what happened. This individual acted out the violent fantasies of others. I hope this gives politicians some pause, as they have been given a clear message as to how disturbing violent rhetoric can be to the popular consciousness and to this individual in particular.

He was described as a "22-year old army reject".

I would have thought that the ability to not kill your target "after shooting them in the head from point blank range" - whilst at the same time killing 6 others and injuring 13 more - would be enough proof that he was qualified to serve in the United States Armed Forces.

It's going to happen more often. Regardless if it was a lone nut or not he obviously had some sort of planning involved and has been keeping up with politics. I haven't read this whole thread or everything about him so I can't say whether or not he chose specific targets or not, but it was planned and followed through with. All it takes is one person doing something for other people that have the same mind state or beliefs to pick up on it and try to follow through with a similar plan.
