Ms. Giffords is lucky to be alive today and hopefully she will pull through this. I bet her 2 children and husband are one edge right now and I wish them the best. It's too bad 5 people had to die over someones political opinion if that's what the shooting was about.

There is no Tea Party, just a bunch of angry conservative reactionaries. So, even if this dude claims to be a TP member (which it doesn't sound like he does), he doesn't represent the whole group. It also follows that if he is a leftist it doesn't mean that his actions necessarily speak for other leftists.

It is however a start to something. I don't know enough about Giffords, but this might set precedent as a means for officials to pay for undermining their constituency. Not that I agree with doing that.
