    Quit smokeless forum

Just curious if anyone is or has been a member of this particular forum?:

    http://forum.quitsmokelessnetwork.org

I signed up with them when I quit 3 years ago. Today was my first visit back there after months of not using it. I got irritated with all of the usual smoekless disinformation. I posted a link to this forum and to the for smokers only website. I want to try and dispell the myths. Now I am wondering if this was a bad idea or not? Any opinions? Maybe I shouldn't have done it. I don't know. I guess time will tell if I get flamed over there or not for posting the info.

    Marv,

in case you don't know  :

You are posting on a forum that is frequented by people, who for the most part

    - consciously try to avoid nicotine (no matter the cost)
    - have extreme difficulties to do so (otherwise they wouldn't post on a forum that is about helping people to quit)
    - are surely all going through terrible withdrawal symptoms
    - feel all shitty, but are fooling themselves that they are actually lucky to have quit this "devilish" plant, called tobacco.
    - are ex-dippers and -chewers (which is maybe a bit more harmful than snus, but less than 2% as harmful as smoking). These people already were using two of the safest nicotine delivery systems, no matter how crappy they may taste and what crap they are made of. I've never tried dip and chew BTW.

In other words: I think it's good to make one posting on such a forum, just to mention snus and then to stay out of it. There will be many people who read your postings and get interested in snus, but those who post there will ignore you or flame you or at the best politely disagree. It's not worth the hassle IMHO.

BTW, given that all the people on that other forum surely feel miserable all the time and have no other fun in life than to be "nicotine-free", maybe drinking lots of alcohol, stuffing themselves with fast food etc. etc. just to compensate, some of them behave quite civilized, but overall the forum seems to be kind of SMPOST for nicotine-abstainers.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the insight Chainsnuser. My intent was/is to give them an alternative to American crap or smokes in the event they can't quit. (excuse me while I break the seal of my newly arrived can of Gellivare Snus- and bake a fat pris- the can just came today in my latest shipment. I read that this brand has the lowest amount of TSNAs of all the snus. Well, I just loaded up. It is dryer than Ettan or General. Makes it harder to load. The aroma is nice and the texture reminds me of a fine cut Cope. Taste is good. I think this reminds me more of Cope than anything I have tried- even the Probe Whiskey. The burn is good to. Oh yeah, I am also listening to Swedish radio via the net. All is well! )

So anyway, I posted a few times there. I am getting torched. I invited anyone who wants to seriously discuss the issue to PM me. We shall se what happens.

Yeah, I feel the same with a prilla of Skruf Stark.

To quote a bit from the other forum:

Beware, for the devil presents himself in many ways. Quitting is the only path to freedom.
        Code:
We are here fighting for our lives. [...] And we will do whatever it takes to keep our quits in tact.
The people on that forum appear to be brainwashed maniacs ... or they just badly need to pack a pinch.

BTW, before I placed my first snus-order, 16 months ago, I searched the internet for infos and found a Swiss forum for addicts of heroin and other "hard" drugs. Someone there asked who on the forum uses snus, and most of the replies mentioned fibreglass, mouth cancer and so on, even after the topic-author presented some real informations. After more than 40 years of anti-tobacco-bogus propaganda people are brainwashed to hell. On that forum they somehow even believe, that their hard drugs are a healthy alternative to tobacco. It's unbelievable!

The forum is in German, but I just post the link, in case someone is interested to see it: http://www.eve-rave.ch/Forum/ftopic2753-0-asc-0.html

        Cheers!
