I live in Sauk City Wisconsin, a rural suburb of Madison. Technically we are a village, and with an adjacent village Prairie Du Sac, our population is around 7,000.
Some claims to fame:
Hometown of author August Derleth
Home of the Culver's restaurant headquarters, and first restaurant
The Lake Wisconsin dam is just up the road
One time home of "Father of Modern Winemaking in California" Agoston Haraszthy
Home of Leinenkugel's first brewery

@xrt Haha, yes I've played it. Maybe it does, I can't remember
@BNSF
Many of the Northern European countries have the same types of suburbs, and they are just ugly
Many German tourists think Oslo is like a German city. In the Frogner and St Hanshaugen areas, most of the buildings are made by German architects. Some are actually identical to buildings in Germany. Frogner and St Hanshaugen have for long been the most expensive areas in Scandinavia to buy apartments. Mostly because Aker Brygge and Tjuvholmen is in the borough of Frogner.
The pictures you've seen now were made in the 50's. Norway had a massive period of urbanaztion after ww2, so the built up these areas. Now, most Norwegians have moved out of the areas.
