My home town is Dublin, Capital of Ireland. It has a population of over a million people and has a long and varied history. It was founded by the Vikings and Norse on the south bank of
the river Liffey in 841. Here are some pics. Part 1.

This is the Ha,penny bridge a popular landmark.

        The River Liffey.

Trinity Colledge. Which houses The Book of Kells. The Book of Kells dates back to the 9th century and is a lavishly decorated copy of the first four gospels in latin.

Wow guys, all these places are so beautiful....I feel like I should move, lol. The town I live in now is HORRIBLE, it's only industry is coal mining. The mountains are indeed beautiful, but when they strip mine them and leave them...they look so bad. It's a real shame, but I know that our country needs the coal, and the miners need jobs...so I guess it is what it is.

I've always loved the rich history that Europe has, and you can see it in the architecture. The U.S. is so young by comparison, and is still developing and writing it's history...which scares me a bit really, lol. I love the U.S. and what it stands for and I couldn't see myself anywhere else, but I do love Europe too

In Oslo in the summer sometimes it wasn't completely dark even at 2 A.M

The first year there was a complete insomnia

You get used to everything, even if it was very cold (-30 sometimes), you get well dressed and you don't feel it as you would feel it here in Romania by the Blacksea because of the breeze that's very strong in the winter time.

I actually had the chance to move to Dublin 6-7 years ago. My mum was offered a job in Ryanair, but she didn't take it.

To show some more winter pictures, I found these

Here's some of Oslo's inner ring road. (Ring road 1. We have 3)

And here's some of the freeway up to Oslo's main airport, Gardermoen.

Here's a funny picture I found on a British forum. When they had their worst snowing period in 2010, all the airports strugled to get their flights in the air. While Oslo's got the biggest snowblowers (you say that?) in the world.

Here's Gardermoen's terminal. Gardermoen is Scandinavia's second biggest airport, after Kastrup in Copenhagen. They've now startet building the second terminal, which will increase the capasity to 40 million travellers a year. Now we have 22 million.

Nice town! It's just like the old movies when they drive on Route 66. Though many Europeans doesn't agree with me, I think America is beatutiful. I guess their reason for saying it is because of the scyscrapers. We have some here, Oslo's got two, but ten more are under construction. I guess we are getting more "Americanized". 25 of the movies shown in Norwegian cinemas are Norwegian. About 5 is Swedish, some British and all the rest is American. Where do Norwegians go for their fast food? McD or BK. Nothing else. TGI Friday's is everywhere, the malls are getting bigger, the population is getting bigger, Coca-Cola is the most common drink, people buy Mountain Dew for 5 dollars a can, Snickers is the most common snack bar, Lay's chips, Doritos... Man, I lose my breath just by typing this! We lose our culture. The only thing Scandinavian still aprecciated is snus ;D
