I grew up in White Settlement, Texas. That didn't do me any favors in Basic Training in the Army. LMAO

And yes, it turns out that White Settlement was a little racist back at its inception...
See... back then Fort Worth was a Native American settlement.... so the white people decided to create a "white settlement" outside of Fort Worth... too bad they had no imagination when it came to naming the town.
I just learned all of that not too long ago when White Settlement tried to change the name of the town... the bill didn't pass *I was happy because it was bullshit to begin with*
I used to think it was named for General White..... boy was I wrong.

Well, sort of. Far fetched though, it's suppose to be in memory of an Swedish-American Illustrator Gustav Tenggren that worked for Walt Disney who gave Pinnochio that look in the cartoon or something along those lines. Nothing to do with the original Italian Pinnochio though. So it's a bit weird with that 9 meter tall bronze sculpture towering over confused tourists wondering wtf? lol
The real reason i have no clue. That Tenggren connection is so insignificant, it must be something else, shady stuff :-P

I thought I'd tell how we Norwegians pronounce Oslo. There are dialects, and some pronounces it about the same as in English, but people from Oslo don't. So here is a little Norwegian lesson for you

O - pronounced like the O in "move", S - Normally like it would in English, but when put together with an L it's pronounch like SH is in english, L like in English, but farther back in your mouth. You roll the toungue backwords, O - like the first one.
