But the weird thing is the defective stuff is not the off brand product, it's well known brand names...........go figure.

14 trillion. But that's just the shit on the books. The wars etc have still not been paid for, and we still have I believe 155 trillion in unfunded liabilities.

I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Lol. From what i recall it was based on these numbers:
US debt to the PRC and Hong Kong: $1,020 Bn.
US public debt outstanding: $13,561 Bn
US GDP, nominal: $14,119 Bn
So factually, it is true that china only owns 8% of our debt, but that is only for declared treasury bonds. China has significant undeclared dollar based assets, ranging from undeclared treasury bonds to corporate equity.
You really want an understanding of our future with china, i highly recommend the article found HERE.
For the better part of the past decade, the world economy has been dominated by a world economic order that combined Chinese export-led development with US over-consumption. The financial crisis of 2007-2009 likely marks the beginning of the end of the Chimerican relationship. In this paper we look at this era as economic historians, trying to set events in a longer-term perspective. In some ways China's economic model in the decade 1998-2007 was similar to the one adopted by West Germany and Japan after World War II. Trade surpluses with the U.S. played a major role in propelling growth. But there were two key differences. First, the scale of Chinese currency intervention was without precedent, as were the resulting distortions of the world economy. Second, the Chinese have so far resisted the kind of currency appreciation to which West Germany and Japan consented. We conclude that Chimerica cannot persist for much longer in its present form. As in the 1970s, sizeable changes in exchange rates are needed to rebalance the world economy. A continuation of Chimerica at a time of dollar devaluation would give rise to new and dangerous distortions in the global economy.

Wanna talk about crazy? I am turning half/vegan as of today. Switching to all fruit/salad diet with small amounts of meat (really small, like 2 slices of salami a day). I'm in this new mood where I want to make sudden and extreme changes for a while.

中国儒学联盟---welcome to the site I'm curious to know, how do the Chinese people view us Americans. I for one, have really enjoyed the Chinese people I've met over the years, and find myself drawn to the rich history and culture of your country.

Some worship your success, over France,so called "Anglo-Saxon model".
Some may think you rich, landlords or capitalists, can not think our problems carefully, and exhaust too much.

China is doing the same thing to its citizens as the US did when it stole land from the American Indians in its westward expansion. China is stealing the land from its farmers in the name of emminent domain. In the USA we no longer own the land when we buy a piece of property, we only own what we put on that land. We are in essence renting our land from the government through property taxes. In order to own the land outright you would have to have an allodial title.
Even when we buy a brand new car paying cash , we don't outright own it unless we have the Manufacturer's Certificate/Statement of Origin . What we get is a Certificate of Title (not the title itself). We have a receipt for the title. This means the government is part owner because they retain the title. This allows them to charge us for vehicle registration, and the subsequent requirements to buy license plates and driver's licenses... etc etc.
Americans don't own what they think they own.
