Yea we have meatless jerky here in South Carolina..................we call them sticks..................find them all over the back yard especially after a storm
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I make my own. It's been a while since I've made it though...probably about two years.

It's fun making different flavors and when I make it my dehydrator has seven shelves so I binge on it for a while.

Fjord pick-ups and herring jerky....................nice. That was funny.

I've got a little electric smoker out back that I mainly use for salmon but i've done some beef jerky and turkey jerky in it too. It is awesome! If a chunk of beef gets a little past it's prime in the freezer, it usually ends up in the smoker. Goes very nice with an ice cold beer.

I haven't seen that around, Rattlesnake. I guess it isn't imported to Norway.

I blame those cans of jerky chew for leading me into dip and eventually snus. Beef Jerky is an all time favorite snack of mine though. Some brands are just so damn expensive, so buying in bulk is the way to go for sure

I like biltong, the South African equivalent of beef jerky.

Never really thought of it as a redneck thing, though.

WRATH: If I lived in central PA, i would stand on my front porch, shoot a deer, then make enough jerky for the year!

The GM where i work has a cooler full of venison in the freezer. Been there for a couple months. Not sure why he doesn't take it home, but i am tempted to help myself and make some venison jerky as i have never had it but am sure i would enjoy it as i love jerky.

They sell Jerky here in Norway, but the price is INSANE and you get this small bag with like 10 pieces.
