Anyways.....+1 on the kindle. I can't read on a backlit screen for very long without getting a headache. I can read the kindle all day long.

I played with one of these new kindles the other day and I gotta say, I am impressed witht heir display. Very nice on the eyes. If you like the anarchist's cookbook, you must get "steal this book". Another classic from the underground press.

I love the Nook Color, but only as a tablet/second PC. I borrowed my sister's Nook for a time and it was great for magazines and some PDFs and short sessions of reading, but my eyes weren't happy with long term reading sessions with another backlit display. Could be me.

I was given a Kindle earlier this month and couldn't be happier. I had big reservations about moving to an ereader, but have been completely thrilled with the Kindle.

Side note: I'm sure your wife will be thrilled no matter what you get her.

The wife gave me a kindle for Chirstmas and I couldn't be more pleased. I had worn out 3 or 4 pda's using them as readers. The larger screen is a big plus. The literaly millions of books that are in public domain are a treasure trove to be siffed through.
