Google Helps Egyptians Protest. This is cool as shit.

VOICE-TO-TWEET: For Egypt protests, Google has enabled a feature to post to Twitter with just a voice connection.

This is cool. Since the Egyptian government shut down the internet, Google has stepped up and allowed a way for protestors to post to twitter by calling a phone number and leaving a voicemail.

To listen to all of the voicemails from Egyptians in the protest, go here. It's cool as shit.

I agree that it's cool, but it'll likely add to an anti-west sentiment.

Why would google helping the protesters circumvent their governments attempts at censorship add to anti-western sentiment. Wouldn't it make it better since the west is helping them?

I dunno, I but I heard Mubarak stepped down or is stepping down. Anyone have the latest on this? Are they till protesting? I've been kind of away from tv and such since wednesday.

Last I heard Mubarak wasn't going to run for another term but I don't think he stepped down and they were still protesting but I haven't heard anything since friday.

I just think that there are groups that loathe everything western. I just wouldn't be surprised to hear it had some sort of negative effect. Last I heard the streets were in the process of being cleaned and people were back to work in Cairo. Some banks were opened recently and though there are still protests that continue to go on it seems the violent episodes have subsided. Just what I got from the local news yesterday.
