    New cell phone.. reccomended

The other day my wife and I went to the AT&T store to upgrade our iPhone 3G to the 3GS because there was a 50 dollar special on tv for it and we didn't want to shell out for the iPhone 4. When we were there I noticed the HTC inspire 4G. Really nice unit with a bigger screen than the iPhone and a lot of neat features. Cool thing I can now see the videos people post on here when before I couldn't . The 4G is noticeably faster as well. Now when I'm out and about and absolutely have to know what snusgetter has in his mouth or nose I'm covered! They got a good special on it 99 with 2 year contract.

Nice phone, and congratulations on not buying Apple :^)

I currently don't even have a phone, but when I do, mine is decidedly dumb. It just makes calls, and texts :^)

my next cell phone is gona be a cricket. The big numbers and no frills is best for me. Too dam hard to understand all the functions anyway.

geez.....I'm starting to feel like my dad.

well not exactly like my dad. he's dead
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Maybe I should get me one so I'll always know what I have in my mouth.
Sometimes I can't remember what I lipped after a while, especially if the flavor doesn't quit.

It ain't always easy bein' me!!

        I know!!

I'll highly recommend HTC. I've had my Desire for a few months now and I'm over the moon with it. The build quality is excellent and it's super fast.

Net10 is the best I have found so far. It only costs 10 cents a minute or you can buy 750 minutes for $25.00. Most of the time I just pay $15.00 a month for my cell phone. The best feature of all is my phone just makes calls and that's about it!

Yes, my wife has T Mobile and it is about 4 times the price. They are always try to sell wallpaper, games, ringtones and net access. I tried to get the family plan and they wanted about $100.00 a month. I refuse to spend that much money on a phone and that's when I found out about Net10. It makes calls cheap and that's all I want or need in a cell phone. The funny thing is that people get cell phones for roadside emergencies which seems like a good idea. The problem is that we never have reception in places where I would hate to be stuck but always have reception in town where I could easily use a pay phone or slip in a cafe. This seems to be true regardless of the service provider.

I was watching Pawn Stars a while ago and somebody came in and tried to pawn an old bag phone. They told him a few years ago they could have given him $200-$300 for the phone but could now only offer him $5.00. Apparently, the old phone used to get fantastic reception everywhere until the satellite phone companies put a stop to it and they now can't reception at all. Just another example of big business killing a perfectly good product and replacing it with crap we need to update every few months to keep us with the Jones'.

I personally use the Huawei Ascend on MetroPCS's network. No complaint, its a touch screen and it runs Droid 2.1. All together, it took me about 5 minutes to root versus the 15-30 minutes it took me to jailbreak the iPhone.

A pay phone? Pay phones around here are about as rare as a fiberglass snus LOL

It takes really good videos as well.. 8 megapixel camera. Technology amazes me sometimes. How they can fit all this stuff in a small package.

                            Werd up dude.

For grins and giggle since I had an upgrade laying around I bought and iPhone 4 for my VZW work account. Nice thing is instead of carrying two phones I just have one now. It will be interesting to see how the iPhone5 turns out though. We have 4 upgrades ready for that on 8-3-11 on AT&T.

Oh and before anyone flames on about Android, I used a Driod2 for 8 or so months. Even rooted, custom rom etc etc Android is still trash compared to iOS, IMO

Just a rant here. I am not anti technology but I do think it can be a downfall as well. I now need to argue with a computer for about 10 minutes before I can get connected with a customer service representative in Mumbai. We pump our own gas, wash our own car windows, check our own oil and still pay more than ever for gas. I saw a kiosk in the mall that was fully automated and has a sensor that tells when someone walks buy so it can make a recorded sales pitch. We scan our own groceries at the checkout in the supermarket or Home Depot and don't have a chance to ask questions about new products. You can now be a professional photographer without knowing anything about lighting or developing film. 411 is almost fully automated but what used to be free now costs almost a $1.00 (or even more). Many banks now charge human teller fees if you do your banking inside the bank. Technology is good in many ways but I think we have become way to reliant on it and put ourselves out of a job in the process. We have lost a lot of human interaction and getting to know your neighbor who used to be that cop or a cashier as well. Heaven forbid the power go out one day.
