Californication

Well I watched all of Weeds, then both seasons of Modern Family and wanted something new to try....

SO I tried Californication. I love this show, it's really well written and has a great plot. David Duchovny is the man and his role in this is pretty damn cool. I'm on the last ep of Season 1 right now.

This show is epic. He plays his role perfectly and the show gets better and better every episode...to the point where I literally sat and watched everything up to season 4 in about a week. Check out Dexter if you haven't already as well, not exactly like the other shows you listed but it is an amazing show, actually I think the fact that it is so unique makes it such a great show. Definitely 2 of my favorite shows though.

"Don't Californicate Oregon"

Showtime Networks is being sued by the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the grounds that they stole the title of their popular show from the The Red Hot chili Peppers album and single of the same name, i.e., Californication.
The lawsuit states that the show is also said to contain a lead character by the name of "Dani California", also a R H C P song.
Tom Kapinos the show's creator defends his show by saying, "Apparently in the '70s there were bumper stickers that said 'Don't Californicate Oregon, because Californians were coming up there, and I just thought it was a great title for this show."

Another liberal that doesn't know the law...

In the United States character names and titles of works are only subject to trademark protection, not copyright protection. Since neither Oregon nor RHCP took out a trademark on Californication nor the name Dani California nothing has been stolen.

I also have to wonder why Joe who loves to download pirated music from TPB is bringing up the subject of stealing anything.
