Who Likes Marmite?

(I have to say that on principle cos I'm in aus and if you go to Australia and say you don't like Vegemite they will hunt you down :P, I have never tried Marmite.)

Before i moved to the states i had a good friend who was a kiwi. he was all over the vegemite too. I did try it, it was close enough to be usable if no marmite was available but given a choice Marmite wins every time.


Lsx is right, a little goes a long way. Start light and work up !!

I love the stuff as well! I actually have Mr. Bean to thank for introducing me to Marmite as well. Along with the Reliant Robin, sleeping in church and pay per use electricity. ;-)

I found a jar of Marmite in the cabinet that expired in 05, and it's still perfectly good. I forgot how much I like this stuff. It works great as a pretzel dip :^)

Marminte is pretty good, but for pretzel dipping my crew loves Nutella!

i like both marmite and vegimite... kiwi vegemite used to be different from aussie vegemite btw.. it was sweeter than aussie, but production of it has stopped and it is now imported from austrailia. it depends on the mood i am in, but both are good, vegemite/ marm ite on a grilled cheese sandwich is the best

This is a by product of brewing beer, correct ? So it is a waste product. Now somehow I have diffuclty wraping my brain around the thought of eating something that starts as waste. Looks like waste, is a simalar color to waste and yes I' ve tried both and IMO tastes like waste. PP I have obeyed and not used the S word.
