Everything you always wanted to know about Norway or how the rest of the world sees Norway..........

Norway, the land of the Vikings. In Norway only 1 out of every 12 rapists are sent to jail! Rape is actually almost legal! Norwegians don’t seem to like Jews. They had an anti-Jew paragraph in its constitution. Norway was once a floating arsenal of virgins created by the Nazis to spite Churchill. It was later crushed into Northern Europe where it remains today. Norway has the worlds largest population of black metal fans and most are homosexual! There is a city in Norway called Lillehammer who got electricity and applesauce only when the winter Olympics were held there. It is so hard to find Norway that it can’t be seen on radar. It is very expensive to live in Norway.

In the city of Tromso, 95% of the buildings are built from fish bones! There are so many trees in Norway that they outmatch people 1,000,000 to 1! Norwegians seem to be loosing fingers. The average Norwegian only has 8 fingers which could have something to do with the heavy metal appeal! Norway is the first city to outlaw the numbers 7,8 and 9. It is due to the solidarity to the large logging industry. People must get bored in this country. They have no internet! Unfortunately, in Oslo about 20% of the people are drug-addicted, homeless beggars. In fact, this kind of behavior is actually legal there because the police aren’t allowed to stop criminals. Law enforcement is disliked and considered rude.

Racism has become a sport in Norway. Brumunddal city is called “Norway’s racism-capital.” They have won the Golden Nigga trophy for many years. As far as income tax in Norway it is 50%, a pint of beer costs 15 dollars and a pack of smokes costs 20 dollars. There’s a 25% VAT on all products in addition to other taxes. In fact, most people can’t even afford meat and vegetables. They survive on bread, cheese. Food is so expensive that it makes 9000 an heros, the government does this for massive lulz. If you smoke it is illegal in Norway! You can purchase tobacco and many do and then have no money left. The popular film “Life of Brian” was banned in Norway! They considered the film to be blasphemous and it didn’t come out there until 1980. However, they marketed it with the tag line “The film that is so funny that it was banned in Norway!”

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Been living in Norway for 6 years, and can tell:

        True

Portugal: Norway is cold and everyone eats fish.
        True

Dane: Norway is expensive, everyone are rich, everyone are freandly, Norwegans like fish and beer and Norwegians are proud of their nature and culture.
        Partly False

Swede: Norwegians are arrogant, rich, cheap, trendy, fashion conscious, good at skiing and they like Sweden.
Don't know if Norwegians like Sweden more than they like Norway, lol .... they're not very much into fashion (You can see thousands of Norwegians dressing up from "tilbud" shops ... cheap clothing shops that always have sales, Norwegians aren't rich but they have a confy life style (you can see more Maserrati, Ferrari's, McLaren's, Rolls Royce's, Bugatti's in Romania than anywhere in the world.... Norwegians have low budget cars ..... mostly. Norwegians aren't arrogant but not very friendly either....... and they're good at skiing......... Hollmenkolen says it all :^)

        True

Englishman: Norwegians are always blond, they are arrogant and most of them work with oil of some kind.
90% of the women and men are blonde and yep Norway's is rich in Oil :^)

          Living in Aus:
I'm half Norwegian so this could be quite biased but I think Norway is awesome. The land is beautiful, the people are beautiful and the food, well it might not look beautiful but the taste is exquisite (40 AUS (about the same US) for a pizza you say?! Well it was worth it in my opinion).

          Some point facts/observations

. Norwegians love themselves (who can blame them? :P)
. Norwegians tend to brew their own alcohol (and succeed in a fine brew)
. Norwegians despise Swedes, as do the Swedes despise Norwegians (Swedish gypsies stole my shoes while I was traveling through sweden to get to Finnmark)
. Norwegians (the younger ones) seem to dig Black Metal (but don't dress like Emo's)
. Norwegians LOVE World of Warcraft (and other video games)
. Norwegians purchase most of their durable supplies from sweden (e.g. Alcohol, tobacco products, foods to be frozen)
. Norwegians (younger ones) tend to complain about where they live (but still boast about their Norwegian ethnicity)
. Norwegians are generally better looking people (but theres always one to spoil the occasion)
. Norwegian boys dress like black people
. Norway is slowly becoming more materialistic
. Norway has a high living standard so visiting is pricy but living there is not so bad
. Each time I go to Norway there seems to be more and more foriegners
. Norwegian dialect changes dramatically from village to village (In some cases a person from say, Kongsberg wont understand a person from Bergen)
. Norwegians are STILL vikings in disguise and could rape the world at any moment
. You can carry a knife around in Norway and nobody would care
. Norwegians have a cool accent and their language is easy to learn
. Norway is the modern day Noah's arc
          . Norway is cold
          . Norway has cool animals
. Cocaine is big in Norway
. After spending a few months in Norway prices don't seem that expensive
          . Great fishing in Norway

That was more points than I expected. . . but yeah. . . this is all observation.

Well, i can buy snus legally in stores. If you'd know ANYTHING about Norwegian justice, you'd know that they do anything to criminalize the older part. So, it's illegal to SELL to someone under the age of 18, but I can legally buy.

And yes, I agree. There is some shit going on in this country. As been said, the police catch very few rapists, our motorway and train networks are ridiculous and so on. But Norwegians are very spoiled. Go to England. They don't complain, but the country is overfloaded with poor people.

Anyway, whenever I picture Norway, I think of old architecture, gloomy weather, and black metal. I have never met a Norwegian myself, so I won't formulate any judgments about its inhabitants.
The VAT is 25% on everything except foods, tobacco, alcohol and cars. The VAT is 14% on foods, and on tobacco, alcohol and cars they put more tax on...

            1. Lutefisk (Seriously? Lye in your food? This stuff is horrid...)
            2. Cool scenery
            3. Blonds with large noses (maybe just my experience with Americans of Norwegian descent)
            4. Apathetic in that Scandinavian way
            5. Socialists
            6. Economically smart - and so far smart enough to stay out of the EU
            7. Akvavit!
            8. Ridiculous metal "music"
            1. I haven't tried lutefisk, and that's the case for 70% of all Norwegians.
            2. Fair enough, but we have some ugly towns, though. Mostly small industrial towns, like Moss and Skjeberg.
            3. There are many blonds, but not to many. I don't know about the big noses
            4. Correct.
            5. Yep...
            6. Hehe... I'd vote for the EU if I could, but I wouldn't vote for the Euro. That would lead to bankruptcy.
            7. We can't live without it! Haha, no, we mostly drink it around christmas for some reason.
            8. I agree.

90% aren't blonde. But 50-60& is true. Haha, yes I've seen TV clips from the 90's. How could we dress like that! Norwegians doesn't dress like that anymore, and you rarely see a "tilbudsbutikk" anymore. And yes, Norwegians mostly buy reasonably priced cars, but BMW, Mercs and Alfa Romeos are very common nowadays.

You seem to be right, except the shopping in Sweden. In Greater Oslo, which is about 1.4 million, most people can drive to Sweden within two hours. So can you in Vestfold and Østfold, Trøndelag and Hedmark, but not in the western and southern parts of the country. In Finnmark they go to Finland.

Listen BRO! YOU can NOT BUY SNUS if YOU are UNDER 18 YEARS of AGE.
The police won't bother if you are 13 and carry a pack of smokes and a can of snus. But IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO SELL SMOKELESS TOBACCO OR CIGARETTES To MINORS! Get this in through your thick skull will ya?? Our politics are out-of-date. We are a shitty nation and most NORWEGIANS are ASSHOLES BIG TIME. You are a prime example. This country sucks! I'm actually thinking about moving in with my family in Canada, BC, Kamloops. Because the girls and boys in this country are self-centered, manipulating type of people.

They'd do anything to use another person who is nice.

Oh and fresh updates shows that we use more drugs then ever, 7/10 people admit to use drugs ON A DAILY BASIS

Anyways all countries have their bad and good sides ......................

Speaking of Norway ..... the only bad side is (no not that it's cold) ....... the fact that if you're a foreigner you're treated like an alien ....... speaking the truth ....... especially if you're black...... but not only..... I've seen people turn faces when telling them I'm from Romania (it's something that happened to me....... not necessarily all Norwegians would act the same) ...............

FACT: Norwegians don't want foreign people in their country at any cost! And I guess they're doing what's best for them and their economy ........ The majority of foreign people living in Norway are either diplomats, working in embassies .... business men ...... foreign women married with norwegians .... hardly anyone that got a contract of some sort there...........

Bottom lime, Norway is a beautiful country (i'd place it on the top of my favorite ones and seen around 40 countries) ......... the mountains...... the fjords.......... the peaceful cottages and nice mountain resorts....... Norway is a country where people do know what MANNERS are .... the most important of it all .... the social security and financial security says it all ......... I was a kid back in 94 - 2000 .... but I know quite a lot of Romanians there that managed to buy out of their own salaries .... not one... but two houses ........ stock up some nice amounts of money in their bank accounts and secure their future...... and they're still pretty young.......... in their 40' .......

I'd move back to Norway anytime ........ :^)

ACCORDING to the information YOU gave ME in a PM you said you where at the age of 15, so you just **** with me then?

I was 12 - 15 .... and bought cigarettes on my own from Narvensen and 7Elven .......... lol I wish I liked snus back then..... Used to spend all my pocket money on cigarettes loool

BTW..... I was in RIMI one time..... and I was with my mom....... she accidentally forgot to buy cigarettes and sent me in again to buy a pack........ She was right at the entrance and waving at the store seller, making signs that she's with me and I am not on my own there buying cigarettes............. you know what ? She had to come all the way back to buy cigarettes because they just wouldn't sell them to me ... looool

Usually night shops.... sell cigarettes and beer to kids....... if they have a hand written letter with them ..........written by their parents.......... :^)

In the city of Tromso, 95% of the buildings are built from fish bones!
lol, hilarious and untrue as well =))

You're right. It's not good, and I guess that's the reason for all the foreigners living in a spesific place, like Groruddalen or Holmlia. And about Romanians, that's sad. I've met two Romanians in my life, and they were both very nice. I guess some Norwegians are prejudiced. We hear about Romanian, Polish, Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian criminals all the time. They come to Norway as burglers or robbers, and go back home and sell what they stole. The sad thing is that these people doesn't get that this is only a very limited group of people. If Finland was much richer than Norway, I have no doubt that Norwegians would go there and do the same thing.

I hope Fremskrittspartiet soon is dead. But I doubt it.

                          True, I guess.

This is true, and SAD. I try to welcome them as I would want them to welcome me to THEIR country.
And yes all Norwegians are like this, believe me man!

I was 12 - 15 .... and bought cigarettes on my own from Narvensen and 7Elven .......... lol I wish I liked snus back then..... Used to spend all my pocket money on cigarettes loool
I know some stores does this but if they are being caught they need to shut down the place.

BTW..... I was in RIMI one time..... and I was with my mom....... she accidentally forgot to buy cigarettes and sent me in again to buy a pack........ She was right at the entrance and waving at the store seller, making signs that she's with me and I am not on my own there buying cigarettes............. you know what ? She had to come all the way back to buy cigarettes because they just wouldn't sell them to me ... looool

                          My point EXACTLY!

Usually night shops.... sell cigarettes and beer to kids....... if they have a hand written letter with them ..........written by their parents.......... :^)
                          Hmm

I don't think Norwegians would actually steal in their LIFE !! lol ......... the countries you've mentioned above and not only ... have an average salary of $300 a month ...... that's what making some people to start stealing ............. As long as the average salary in Norway stays at $4500 they won't go to Finland to steal anything =)) lol

But anyways Norway is a great country .... I have lots of great memories there and I'm sure I'll be back there at least to visit .......... if not live there........... the problem is getting a contract there......... and it ain't that easy :^)

Getting a job? Depends on what you work with.

EDIT: I see Romania isn't a part of Schengen...
