What kind of beer Whalen? I have a Mr. Beer kit in my closet. I realize this is the bottom rung on the amateur brew ladder, but is it worth trying? I love beer and I would love to make my own.

Found a new and interesting Hops, The calypso, made a go of a batch. Real citrus and fruit smell, to soon to taste, I have been drinking my extra strong and mellow Tranny beer. Tastes like an Abby ale but the extra alcohol makes it far less sweet and it gets spicy also. Very classy taste, champagne bubbles, real lacy!

Beer is easy to make, it takes finest ingredients, clean practices, and learning how to balance sugars and gravities. I am not a big beer drinker, but home brews can be of the highest quality, It is a craft and it takes a little science. We make a lot, my buddy just got his brewers license. On to 90 gallon batches. He has the nose and know how, I like the science.

The water is the key! I live in the country, have a limestone well 400 feet deep into good sweet clean tasty water. Best tasting water makes best tasting beer, Ph is important and I have to adjust for some beers, but enough about that. Welcome back GN and all you other trouble makers!
