Holy crap...$9.45 for a pack of smokes in NYC?

I know NYC went through some price spikes somewhat recently for smokes but I was watching CNN about someone winning the lottery and the store owner was being interviewed. The display was behind him, $9.45 for a pack of Camel's. There's an incentive to switch to snus right there.

I always thought it was like $7-$8 bucks tops.

    That's the price

The most expensive now is Norway $12 a pack....

and followed by Bermuda... been there ...cigarettes were $10 a pack (the cheapest)

It's like 4 bucks here in VA. Still a little too high for me to be smoking 3/4 a pack a day.

Not anymore. Ever since I started Camel snus I stopped smoking completely, no urge to either. Camel saved me from smoking, Swedish snus saved me from Camel.

Probably not anytime soon. I'll probably wait until I start to get bored with portions, and if that never happens then after boot camp sometime I'll pick up a tin just to try.

Can get a bottle of amphetamines cheaper than smokes, this is what the government officials against tobacco want.

Smokes in Canada run about $10 cheap brands (Canadian Classics, Peter Jackson), to around $14 for the big brands (Export, Belvedere, Players, etc). A can of Skoal runs about $15. We get taxed to death

That's why I support the black market right now....$10-30 a carton depending on the quality you want. I do not recommend the $10 cartons that come in a ziplock baggie 50% of all smokers in Ontario now smoke Indian Res black market smokes lol good job government!

That's how much they are here in Seattle. I thought they were more in NYC? Maybe in Manhattan proper? Someone told me just the other day they were 14 bucks.

Doesn't really matter, you can't smoke anywhere in NYC anyway.
