That's so sad to see. Good news is that the local plants and wildlife are recovering at an accelerated pace, much ahead of what we expected. Hopefully the ecosystem can recover within the next hundred years or so.

Could you imagine what the world would be like if we had a real nuclear war, where nuclear ordinance were used all over the place? It would be devestating, we would have to thikning our way around that problem for hundreds of years. Imagine if there were a chernobyle in every major city, it would be devestating, the land would be unsusable, the cities would have to be rebuilt but couldn't due to the radiation. The nazis hada plan to bomb NYC once they developed the nuke, luckily that never happened but imagine if it did. A few strategicly placed nukes would take out the power centers of America for the next few hundred years.

I hope that never happens, if we are going to kill each other we may as well do it in a way that doesn't affect future generations as much.

From what I gather a bomb may be more destructive but not as radioactive. The radioactive material is spent when used in a bomb. Where it is not from a nuclear disaster. I mean Japan isn't that big and it was rebuilt rather quickly after having not one but two bombs dropped on it.
