I guess it's just me being American, we scream if our president plays too many rounds of golf or if our congressman fly on private jets. So from my point of view a "royal wedding" to reinforce that the people are subjects who should look up to these "royal" families, who survive off taxpayer money, is inappropriate in every regard. You want to make the subjects happy? Drop a few million pounds from a helicopter over the crowd and see what the subjects say.
I mean, why am I not royal? Why do I not get a cut of all the commerce going on. I could throw huge multi-million dollar royal weddings too and totally help our economy. Quick, let's get a bill through the legislature to vot me as America's official new royal family. I will sit back and chill on your taxpayer money, then I will tell everyone how special I am since I have so much money and so many nice things . Then i can start addressing everyone as my "subjects" and you all will eat it up and ask for more.
I'm ready to do this thing baby, bring me my crown!
How do Europeans feel about this? I feel like Europeans don't always grasp the whole american political system so I am probably missing something here in regards to how the whole "royal family" setup works. Is there any relevant job that the royal family/queen does or is it just all for show at this point. To me i see a family of commoners who for some reason gets paid by the people to chill out, causing them to labelthemselves as "royalty". What makes the queen so special for her position?
/off with their heads.
