Guys, let's keep it real. I was about that time, we needed another significant event to get americans out in the streets waving the flag and chanting USA again. I do not believe for a second that we spent a trillion dollars just to find him chilling in a mansion in Pakistan, our allie (sort of).


This is a publicity stunt, they just decided to off him at the right time (as in, right when we start cmpaigning for the 2012 elections) so that it could be used for political capitol. Bin Laden is a nobody at this point but this announcement of him being killed virtually assures Obama will win in 2012.


I will bet anyone here any amount of money that he will win solely due to this Osama Bin Laden thing. I know no one here really cares, but americans are big on "buzz issues" and killing bin laden is going to lead to Obama winning. No question in my mind now.

nope, they buried him in the sea, so that his grave wouldn't become a shrine for his followers. I think it's great that they gave him a funeral, it shows that America takes pride in being the good guys.

I must say I am disappointed by the indifference being shown here regarding this. This man was the mastermind behind the worst terrorist attack in our nation's history. His death should be celebrated. Sure, someone else will step in but that is missing the point. Have you all forgotten about what happened just 10 years ago? Should we have just let it slide? Screw that, this POS deserved to die and I'm glad he did. Sorry, sometimes I forget it's cool to hate America these days...

My problem is how do we know he actually had anything to do with it? The government has a long history of setting people up. Having said that, I am at least 90% sure he was the mastermind and am glad to see him go but I really don't think we should celebrate anyones death. I am just glad it's at least partially over with.

What's with all the "mastermind" stuff regarding 9/11? It's not like he engineered some new super weapon; he crashed a couple planes into buildings. That's a half step up from the slingshot as far as technology goes. Anyone could have come up with that idea, and it wasn't particularly brilliant, although it was effective, ONCE...
