nope, they buried him in the sea, so that his grave wouldn't become a shrine for his followers. I think it's great that they gave him a funeral, it shows that America takes pride in being the good guys.

Guys, let's keep it real. I was about that time, we needed another significant event to get americans out in the streets waving the flag and chanting USA again. I do not believe for a second that we spent a trillion dollars just to find him chilling in a mansion in Pakistan, our allie (sort of).


This is a publicity stunt, they just decided to off him at the right time (as in, right when we start cmpaigning for the 2012 elections) so that it could be used for political capitol. Bin Laden is a nobody at this point but this announcement of him being killed virtually assures Obama will win in 2012.


I will bet anyone here any amount of money that he will win solely due to this Osama Bin Laden thing. I know no one here really cares, but americans are big on "buzz issues" and killing bin laden is going to lead to Obama winning. No question in my mind now.

The majority of people I know, (remember I live in South Alabama) who hated Obama before, still hate him. I do see your point on this being a little too convenient of a timing though.

Sgreger, I will take that bet. The election isn't tomorrow. Killing Bin Laden is a great victory for all Americans and I congratulate the U.S. military and I congratulate the president. One roll of snus that Obama will not win the next election.

I don't like Obama had much at all to do with capturing him other than receiving the intel and saying "you have permission to get him". I'm just saying that 200 years of history is against you here, the majority of voters approve of what he is doing, the republicans have no good candidates to run, and HE JUST CAUGHT OSAMA BIN LADEN, aka he finished what bush couldn't. This is a guaranteed win for an incumbent president.


Now I still think this is all nonsense, Osama couldnt have actually eluded us for that long, I think we just decided to take him out a ta time when it was politically convenient, like for example the month Obama starts his re-election campaign...

Nice straw-man argument. Resorting to name calling does not refute the logic that the U.S. would prefer to have Bin Laden alive to gain additional information about terrorism out of him before they put him on trial and then have him executed. Why doesn't it make sense that he was killed because he or someone else that was protecting him fired on troops? Where is your proof that this isn't what happened?

According to Islam, his body needed to be buried within 24 hours. It would not have been possible to bring him to the US as you say and still respect the customs of Islam.

If you want to engage in debate on the internet, you should avoid advocating weak arguments and then using straw men to prove your nonsensical ideas.
