To be fair, Obama's cuts to Medicare are in waste, fraud, and abuse, not benefits. The Ryan plan eliminates Medicare in favor of a coupon for private insurance.

To be fair, all Obamacare is is a giant coupon that we get to collectively use to buys private insurance. That is the main thing in Obamacare is in that the insurance companies will stop being dicks and denying insurance to those with pre-existing conditions (which will cost them a fortune), and in return they will get millions more people on their books because every American will be forced to buy private health insurance (which is how they will recoup their profits).

I'm not endorsing the republicans medicare plans a) because I havn't read into it and b) because they are probably just doing something to make people angry at Obama, but I still say medicare needs to be reformed. We need to either socialize the whole system or collectively bargain for better rates from insurance companies like they do in some countries. Medicare is a giant wastefull and tragic example of bureaucracy gone wrong. We spend a huge amount of our money on it and get really crappy beenfits in return that aren't even accepted at most reputable hospitals/Dr's. We need to give benefits to those who have already paid in but then reform it somehow and do it right going forward.
