As a curious Brit, what do you folks get up to on the 4th? Big family get togethers? All-day partying? Nothing special?

I take it the 4th is a national holiday, does that mean a day off work for all?

relaxing .. have some frosty adult beverages .. grilling out/cookout/bbq sometimes pool or beach parties(hearing that Lee Greenwood song atleast 2 dozen times

) followed by setting off alot of Chinese fireworks around dusk til midnight.
