As far as I'm concerned, "throttling" my bandwidth, is no less stealing than file sharing. I pay for a certain speed, if they intentionally lower it, without a price drop, that makes them crooks too. It's none of their business how much I download, as I have no cap on my plan.

As far as worrying about being caught, if you're paranoid you should invest in a seedbox, which is ingenious IMO. I won't go into the details of what it is but a simple google will fill you in. PM me for info on which ones are worth the $ if you want.

Yep...I grew up a pseudo-neo-hippie, and the Dead was like mother's milk. They did allow taping, but tended to frown on getting patches into the soundboard (although A LOT of them exist). Once the soundboard was out amongst the traders, they didn't really seem to care. Then all of a sudden, Bob Weir has a fit about soundboard recordings affecting their bottom line (this happened about the time the file sharing became hugely popular), and now they're hard to find.

All I know is my old Nak tape deck gets a workout with 300+ hours of Dead, and at least as much good old vintage Phish, ABB, etc. Can't seem to throw the old tapes away, even though I've managed to replace MOST of them with CDRs...



And yes, I've bought every official recording the Dead has ever released...most of them on record, tape, and CD...
